We’re delighted to introduce our conductor for The Wish Thief @naoise.whearity

Naoise Whearity, a Dublin based conductor, chorister and educator is currently studying an MMus in Choral and Orchestral Conducting at @tudublinconservatoire, having graduated with a BA in Music and French from @trinitycollegedublin.

She is the musical director of @cantairiavondale and of the Well Sing Choirs at @riamdublin, and serves as music assistant for the @nationalconcerthall’s award winning youth choir, Cór Linn @nchchoirs. She is founder/conductor of the project chamber choir, @geantrai_ensemble, and is Co-Artistic Director of @youthoperaireland.

She was awarded First Prize and the Singers Prize at the 2025 @thefeisceoil Choral Conducting Competition adjudicated by Nils Schweckendiek working with @chamberchoirireland and recently led Geantrai to win joint Best Overall Choir in @rtelyricfm’s Choirs for Christmas Competition 2025. She was also honoured to perform as a guest conductor with the Vancouver Chamber Choir, one of Canada’s foremost professional ensembles, in both Vancouver and Tampere, Finland.

Beyond her conducting, she works as Choral Director at @rathdownschool, and as the Junior School’s music specialist.

Two years ago today I was arriving home from the most extraordinary week with the Vancouver Chamber Choir in Vancouver, Canada 🇨🇦

Being chosen as one of six international conductors to work on repertoire by Sixten and Paulus was an honour. It stretched me musically, reshaped my mindset, and opened my ears and heart in ways I’m still discovering. It remains one of the most transformative experiences of my life, and Hodson Manor and all of the beautiful people I met there will always hold a very special place in my heart.

It also marks two years since the last time I will ever go ice skating 💀⛸️ and having to haggle my way onto the last seat of the flight from Toronto to Dublin🙈 taken in Vancouver, B.C., Canada by @naoise.whearity
