Join us at New York Climate Week! Come cook out in the park and sequester carbon with Napachar. Bring dry twigs for the fire and something for the grill. Link in bio for details.

One workshop. Three layers. Underground → Aboveground → Sky.

🔥 Biochar — wood waste transformed into "luxury condos for microorganisms." Water+nutrient retention and delivery, long-term carbon storage. With Eric Mayer (Napachar), Stanford PhD turned biochar producer.
🌳 Hedgerows — pollinators, beneficial predators, water storage, windbreaks. Plant selection, establishment, and how to access funding incentives. With Zach Heyman (Farmhand Foundation).
🦉 Birds — a single barn owl family eats 3,000–4,000 rodents a year. Bluebirds clean up insect pests. Prof. Matt Johnson's (Cal Poly Humboldt) research across 60+ vineyards shows how to make birds the backbone of chemical-free pest management.

Practical. Field-ready. Not to be missed.

⛰️Productive day in the Mayacamas! Honored to work alongside the @sonomaecologycenter to help train another cohort of biochar makers. Thanks so much to Raymond Baltar, @goldridgercd @sonomaopenspace and @sonomarcd for helping make this happen. And biggest thanks to the enthusiastic crews from @conservationcorpsnorthbay for all the hard work 💪

This sums it up:
from carbon captured,
through pyrolysis,
to carbon sequestered 🎀

A full start to the burn season! Since the official season opened exactly a week ago we’ve burned 5 out of 6 days, made 60 cu-yds of biochar, and sequestered 20 tons of CO2 so far!
