@giganticbrewing Kölsch Party. The place where it all started with our first ever soft pretzel pop up last year! We love you all so very much!

Howdy Friends! We’re here with little lye livin’ review of this past month.

We were super lucky to join a @thebittermonk double dip Anniversary celebration & UFO Festival at our home base in McMinnville in May, followed by Lupulin Ecstasy @fortgeorgebeer in Astoria this past weekend.

The reception and support our little bakery has received is more fulfilling than we can describe. Over 400 pretzels were prepared across these spectacular shindigs.

For us, that’s maxing out our bby cottage capacity to its’ fullest (for now 🙃) and you. all. sold. us. out. each. time.

We love you and until next time, you’re part of it.

⁣Endless gratitude to the homies @brujos_brewing for having us sling some of our Philly love letters yesterday for their Aniversario II celebration.

We sold out 15 dozen pretzels in less than 4 hours which was freakin wild. So very thankful. Our ‘Perfect Dark’ was our fun homage to this completely killer event. ⠀

What an amazing, formative, and fun last handful of months it has been. As we reflect and continue to conceptualize what Nascent Bread is and could be, it is rooted first and foremost with you all. You helped seamlessly calm our first pop-up nerves, came in droves to “live the lye” and made us feel truly and completely at home. ⠀⠀

From August to December this year, we had 10 unbelievable opportunities to share our love letters to the bread gods. Tremendous gratitude and thanks to our friends who shared with us their space, presence, consideration, warmth, and unbelievable encouragement:⠀⠀

⁣The last week of November was truly lovely for us here at Nascent.⠀

Huge gratitude to @lombardhousebeer & the Philly faithful, along with our hometown homies in Mac @thebittermonk with whom we couldn’t be more grateful.

Our last lye lovin’ pop-up of the year will be @wonderlandbrewfest this Saturday, December 20th. ⠀
We will have our usual quiver of Philly pretzel goodness (Furikake, Sesame Surprise, Classic Salt), along with a couple new R&D flavors we’ve been noodling on.⠀

⁣This past Saturday @grandfirbrewing’s Slugfest III was so much goddamn fun. So many friends, family and new pals came thru, sold us out and shared in such an edifying & excellent day.⠀

⁣Howdy folks! It’s been a few weeks since, but we wanted to give huge thanks to @buoybeer @knittersbitters for letting us sling some Phillys at their Oktoberfest a few weeks back in Astoria.⠀
⠀
⠀
We had our biggest bake to date, churning out 150+ pretzels for the event, which was a big feat for our little cottage project - more than doubling our usual output. Unbelievably special to feel the love and support of all who visited us ❤️
⠀
⠀
Nascent will have a few more lil pop ups TBD Oct - Dec, but the focus will be on deluxe funtime R&D the next few months - exploring different formula and baking approaches, flours, inclusions, toppings, etccc - so that we are Spring time ready to share more of the lye lovin’ goodness with y’all.😘😘😘#livethelye #sourdough #phillystyle #pretzels taken in Astoria, Oregon by @nascent_bread

⁣Ah, the “Sesame Surprise”: A lovely umami-forward blend of 3 different flavored sesame seeds with a lil kiss of flaky Maldon sea salt. ⠀
