A Taste of Portugal in the Houses of Parliament; London, April 2025.

On April, Nata & Co went to London to participate in a showcase of the best that Bath has to offer, a Taste of Bath, in an invitation from @wera_hobhouse accepted with excitement and gratitude.
Besides the opportunity to showcase our Pastéis de Nata and socialising with those attending the event, we had the pleasure of visiting the Houses of Parliament in a guided tour by Wera (and William).
This #reel is to say Thank you to everyone involved, and to share a little ‘taste’ of what we got when there. We hope you enjoy!

When it comes to the translation of “Pastel de Nata/Pastéis de Nata”, at Nata & Co we believe in the power of the Portuguese words/ culture, and the meaning of words as ‘Fado’ or ‘Saudade’ , to mention a few às an example, get lost in the language of the host community- it happens the same with ‘Pastel de Nata’; regarding that there’s a bit of ‘mystery’ ( as Wera mentioned) involved in all the process of the pastel de nata making resulting in a substance that is not the English custard, a “Portuguese custard tart” from Nata & Co will be always an authentic /original Pastel de Nata 😇☺️

Bechgyn a Mercheeeeed! We had the pleasure of being invited down to try out the new Autumnal flavours of Nata & Co. this week, and if you’re looking for pastries, sweet treats and good milkshakes - this is the spot for you! 🥹

Since rediscovering our love for the little pastries, we’ve been on the hunt for a place that sells good Nata’s - and this is definitely the spot to try! 👏🏻 We decided to opt with:

🍫 🍂 S’more Nata - An awesome new Autumnal addition to the menu! The usual custardy goodness and crispy pastry was topped with some chocolate and mini-marshmallows to give you the ultimate sweet treat!

🥜 Pistachio Nata - A Nata topped and filled with pistachio cream, as well as the usual custardy goodness!! I was sceptical about this because I’m not the biggest pistachio fan, but it was actually really good - especially if you’re a pistachio lover!

🍫 Nutella Nata - A preferred choice of ours when we’ve visited this spot for takeaway before! It’s the perfect balance of creaminess from the custard tart and rich chocolate from the Nutella - a 10/10 for sure!

But it wasn’t just the sweet treats we dug into - we also managed to get our hands on:

🥤 Nata Milkshake - That’s right - an actual Pastel De Nata inside a milkshake 🤯
🥤 Biscoff Milkshake - A good choice for the usual favourites!
🥐 Spinach and Ricotta Parcel - This was lush! Nata have a really good variety of veggie and vegan options and this was top tier! Creamy, crispy and best enjoyed warm!

A huge thank you to the team for having us down, we can’t wait to come back 💛

🇵🇹 A little taste of Portugal with a rather spectacular Welsh view! 🏰☕️

Now, who knew you could feel like you’ve escaped to a little Portuguese café whilst sitting opposite Cardiff Castle?!

We popped into @nataandco in the heart of Cardiff, and what a lovely little spot!

There’s something about the atmosphere inside that gives you those European café vibes. The smell of freshly baked pastries, the coffee, the relaxed surroundings and people popping in for a little treat. Yet look out of the window and there’s Cardiff Castle reminding you that you’re very much still in Wales!

And of course, you can’t visit a Portuguese café without trying their famous pastéis de nata! 🇵🇹

With autumn well and truly here, they’ve given these gorgeous little custard tarts a rather indulgent twist, and I was absolutely here for it!

🍫 S’mores – chocolatey, marshmallowy goodness with those cosy autumn feels.

🍪 Biscoff – because let’s face it, Biscoff makes just about everything better!

🍋 Lemon Meringue – a lovely combination of sweet and zesty.

🥮 And obviously, we couldn’t forget the original pastel de nata, with its flaky pastry and creamy custard centre. Sometimes you just can’t beat a classic!

But Nata & Co isn’t just about sweet treats.

We also tucked into a Portuguese-inspired sandwich filled with continental meats. The sort of lunch that makes you feel like you’re sitting in a little café somewhere in Lisbon, watching the world go by.

And that’s what I loved about this place. It’s a little escape from the hustle and bustle of Cardiff city centre without actually having to go anywhere.

Whether you’re after a coffee and a pastry, a spot of lunch or just somewhere to sit and enjoy the view, this is definitely one to add to your Cardiff foodie list.

📍Nata & Co, Bath.

Ad- we popped by Nata & Co in Bath to sample their pasteis de nata! They are making these fresh on site daily and have both sweet and savoury options. I loved the nutella and the original. They are situated looking out over Pulteney Bridge so are super central. We also thought the coffee was great I had an autumnal special latte with honey and cinnamon ☕️🍂 their £4.95 coffee and nata deal is ideal for a lil break from sightseeing or shopping in Bath!

There’s nothing I want more on a blustery autumn day than a sweet treat so when Nata &Co so kindly invited me in for a Pastéis De Nata and a coffee I couldn’t let the opportunity pass me by.

They’re were a variety of Pastéis De Nata flavours and other sweet treats but pay serious attention to that savoury counter too the cheese bread is exactly what it says on the tin but in the best way, served warm its super comforting.

The original Pastéis De Nata hits every note for me with that crisp flakey pastry, sweet custard and the touch of cinnamon to make it a little more aromatic.

The S’mores flavour (seasonal) with a hazelnut chocolate filling and the Lemon meringue (seasonal) has a soft meringue topping and a punchy lemon flavour both equally as tasty though I think I’m a traditional girl through and through here.

I definitely will be back for a bite of Portugal 🇵🇹
