There’s nothing I want more on a blustery autumn day than a sweet treat so when Nata &Co so kindly invited me in for a Pastéis De Nata and a coffee I couldn’t let the opportunity pass me by.

They’re were a variety of Pastéis De Nata flavours and other sweet treats but pay serious attention to that savoury counter too the cheese bread is exactly what it says on the tin but in the best way, served warm its super comforting.

The original Pastéis De Nata hits every note for me with that crisp flakey pastry, sweet custard and the touch of cinnamon to make it a little more aromatic.

The S’mores flavour (seasonal) with a hazelnut chocolate filling and the Lemon meringue (seasonal) has a soft meringue topping and a punchy lemon flavour both equally as tasty though I think I’m a traditional girl through and through here.

I definitely will be back for a bite of Portugal 🇵🇹

I found out what my username means this weekend. For the first 23 years of my life, all I knew was organized athletics. Training several hours a day with one goal in mind: Win. Win the race. Win the game. Win the match. But one day, the ball stopped bouncing. Everything I knew about what it meant to compete, train, and remain healthy was flipped upside down, and I had to relearn what that meant for me. And that’s where the idea of being a Semi-Retired Athlete was born. At first it was learning how to go into a gym and lift without a strength coaching giving me a piece of paper to follow. Then it was learning what aerobic endurance was when I trained for my first half marathon in 2024. And then finally, this weekend completing my third world major marathon in Chicago. But it wasn’t until this weekend that I truly found out what my goal was in this entire process of navigating life as a Semi-Retired Athlete. And that’s because the goal is now ambiguous. There is no “winning” anymore. The goal can be whatever I want. And on Sunday, I found out what that goal is for me: to have fun. I don’t want to be the fastest. I don’t want to PB. I literally want to go out and have fun. Maybe that means doing a keg stand at Mile 24 of a marathon. Maybe that means running out of storage in the middle of the marathon because I was recording myself singing @remiwolf too many times. Maybe that means waking up every Wednesday at 4am to go run with @run0440. Maybe that means doing a @hyroxworld in Barcelona with zero training and zero time goal in mind. It means training to feel GOOD and doing it with the people I love. And there might come a day again when I want to be the best - PB a race, maybe come in 1st place at something. But right now, that’s just not for me. And that’s the point. I can choose whatever I want my goal to be. I have never enjoyed fitness more in my life. And that is what being a Semi-Retired Athlete is. Go have some fun.

TNHT: Kyle.Anfernee (@Kyle.Anfernee) Neighbors, A family is dealing with heartbreak as they prepare to bury their two young sons. Authorities say the bodies of Elijah Khalil Hawkins, 5, and Kashh Kendrell Williams, 3, were recovered from a pond on Saturday. The discovery followed reports that the children went missing after leaving their Daytona Beach home. Police Chief Jakari Young said investigators believe the deaths were accidental and that there is no indication of foul play. Young said their mother fed the children Saturday afternoon before lying down for a brief nap. When she woke up, both boys — along with the family dog — had managed to slip outside of the apartment. He said quote “She woke up approximately 15 minutes later, and the kids, as well as the family dog, had gotten out of the apartment. She does have a child safety lock on the door, so apparently, they figured out how to navigate that child safety lock, and they exited the apartment.” Surveillance video obtained by police shows the two boys running near the pond before entering the water. Their mother is seen on the video coming outside moments later. While Young believes the deaths were accidental, he said the question of whether the mother will face criminal charges remains unanswered. Young said the department has turned its entire case over to the State Attorney’s Office, which has the authority to make that determination.
