Your brunch game just levelled up!

@stpierreuk have launched their croissant loaf so it’s now even easier to enjoy that buttery laminated goodness.

Their croissant loaf is best served warm but it pairs perfectly with sweet or savoury toppings so there’s something for everyone.

For this brunch I enjoyed a slice with black cherry jam and fruit creating the ultimate platter. I’m also excited to try a Croque Monsieur and experiment with other toppings.

You can currently find this delicious croissant loaf at your local Tesco’s, Sainsbury’s or Asda.

I’m sure a lot of you will understand me when I say that our usual Friday night takeaway is starting to feel more and more of a splurge.

So when I saw Quorn had released a new takeaway range I just knew I had to check it out for a Friday night treat forless than half the usual price!

I tried the Quorn Chunky Fillet Burgers and the Quorn Hot and Spicy Bites, both were really tasty, I really enjoyed the slow build of heat on the Quorn Hot and Spicy Bites and found them really moreish! What makes these even better is they oven cook in less than 20 minutes making it not just cheaper but way quicker than getting delivery from your local.

Most of the products range around the £3 mark and can be found in your major food retailers

There’s nothing I want more on a blustery autumn day than a sweet treat so when Nata &Co so kindly invited me in for a Pastéis De Nata and a coffee I couldn’t let the opportunity pass me by.

They’re were a variety of Pastéis De Nata flavours and other sweet treats but pay serious attention to that savoury counter too the cheese bread is exactly what it says on the tin but in the best way, served warm its super comforting.

The original Pastéis De Nata hits every note for me with that crisp flakey pastry, sweet custard and the touch of cinnamon to make it a little more aromatic.

The S’mores flavour (seasonal) with a hazelnut chocolate filling and the Lemon meringue (seasonal) has a soft meringue topping and a punchy lemon flavour both equally as tasty though I think I’m a traditional girl through and through here.

I definitely will be back for a bite of Portugal 🇵🇹

Now that the autumn months have arrived I find myself reminiscing on the summer we had here in the UK.

This fish platter was the perfect choice during our last camping trip of the season.

Salmon, crab, cockles, prawn cocktail served with a light salad, bread and butter and some cous cous, super fresh and the perfect summer lunch.

Clearwell Farm 📍 Michaelstone-y-Fedw, Cardiff, CF3 6XT

I visited Clearwell Farm’s Pumpkin Village because it really is the best way to get into that autumnal mood! 🎃 If you love the whole autumn aesthetic like me, crisp air, golden leaves, and pumpkin picking, this is an absolute must. They’ve even got a pick your own (PYO) experience so you can wander the fields and select the perfect pumpkin to take home.

The site is full of pumpkins (obviously) but it’s also well organised with a good amount of food and drink options and plenty of other things to do from listening to music, to trying out some axe throwing with @matchboxcarnival

On Friday and Saturday night there’s live music and I can seriously see this being super popular throughout the month of October.

👻 From the 16th, the Harvest of Horror makes its way into the village for a scarier vibe and, as a certified wuss, I look forward to watching behind my phone screen at the fun.

Perhaps I spent too much time watching YouTube in the early 2010s but I do see September as such a transformative month.

This month I tackled what I hope to be my only hen do as a maid of honor (despite my mothers protests as I’m not married) and a whole lot of great social plans

The hen package from OPA Bath was great £59.99pp for starters, Mains, 2 drinks and a choice of dessert or another drink followed by a plate smashing ceremony well worth the money and fantastic memories that you can share with parents and grandparents alike!

A Cocktail Masterclass showcasing all things @patron ? Count me in!

@boombattlebarcardiff truly knows how to throw a party. With delicious margaritas and entertaining games, you’re guaranteed a fantastic night out. Selina and I laughed non-stop, though I don’t think we are winning any bartending awards anytime soon!

The masterclass includes three cocktails, two of which you craft yourself with the guidance of their bar team, along with some shots and sharing plates from their street food menu. The food is exactly what you want after a couple of drinks, particularly the carbonara bites and corn ribs.

Not ready to end the night? Boom Battle Bar offers a wide range of games to choose from, including darts and karaoke. Where else would you go to socialise?

Square and Fair 📍Royal Arcade, Cardiff @squareandfaircardiff

As I don’t work in Cardiff I’m rarely able to make it in for lunch, so when an opportunity arose I really wanted to try one of square and fairs focaccia sandwiches.

The ordering process was quick and easy and I love that you can get a half sandwich rather than a full and I think I’d do this next time I pop in as I personally found them quite filling.

I went for the chicken Caesar filling which was savoury, and creamy, the only thing that would have improved for me personally is the inclusion of anchovies but I get that many aren’t a fan. The focaccia itself was soft and a little chewy exactly what you’d expect. I really rated it as a lunch option if you’re looking for something quick in Cardiff central.

I also love the iced coffee served in a clear can, super cute.

DAIU’s new Cardiff City location makes it even easier to enjoy their signature hot pot and Korean BBQ.

Located inside JRC Global Buffet, it’s perfect for families looking for something different. You’ll find something everyone will enjoy.

As a big fan of noodle dishes, this is right up my street and I particularly enjoy the hot pot, cooking lots of different proteins and veggies in that super tasty broth.

I love that the sauce station has suggestions on what to make. I tried the satay meat dipping sauce, which was nutty, salty, savoury and perfectly paired with the meat. I’d definitely make it again.

DAIU Cardiff Central is open seven days a week and can be found just a stones from away from the Cardiff Central Station.

A few recent posts about Chai Street on my feed brought back memories of our visit a few years ago. So when I suggested we revisit for a bite before a show, Ben was keen.

I ordered two snacks from their menu: the Vada Pav and the chilli paneer. The Vada Pav was lightly spiced and warming, with a hint of sweetness in one of the sauces that I couldn’t resist. It was really tasty and definitely shareable.

The chilli paneer had a great kick, perfect for spice lovers. The sauce was moreish and sticky, and there was plenty of delicious paneer. I was a big fan.

Ben opted for the lamb stew from the lunch menu, which arrived sizzling (swipe to the end to hear, but warning may cause serious food envy). I managed to steal a bit, though I didn’t quite get a piece of lamb. It was mild and creamy and incredibly comforting.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and are determined not to wait so long for our next trip.

The perfect place for a Sunday morning brunch!

I had an iced mocha and the French toast with bacon, blueberries, granola and a fried egg, which was great the perfect blend of savoury and sweet and the granola added a great crunch.

Located just opposite Victoria Park it’s also a great excuse to do a few laps before returning for some cakes to take home. I highly recommend the mint chocolate chip macaron!
