Aayushi in the “tiles” skirt. A craft technique developed from leftover canvas pieces found on the school sewing room bins. The canvas went through a process of applying puff paint and gloss to achieve a rubber-like texture, similar to leather. The tile pattern is inspired by Amsterdam, its map and particular canal distribution through the rings. Influenced by Mondrian himself, the map was turned into one of De Stijl’s painting, creating a grid of tiles that corresponds to this map. Translating the city to the clothes, and the clothes to art. Duality between fear & comfort. Project consisting of two looks inspired by the brand Maison Margiela, for Studio, Year 2 AMFI. ‘An ode the presence of Bruno, as a character that found comfort in his artistic self. In this passion and love. In this pursuit (of being a musician) that became his own savior. To illustrate the time, effort, love, happiness, stress, nervousness; the wear [“desgaste”] of what having a passion so devoted unveils. I want to really tell the story behind Bruno’s suits (Father’s, Funeral and Performance), to show how this comfort in music and the memories of his parents saved him from his fears. How these suits created Bruno as he is.’ The special use of prints in the garments, from x-rays and tapestry inspired print, to the well known ‘memory of’ Margiela print; reveal the intimate amulets that hold value to our character. ’10’ a collection for men.
