Aayushi in the “tiles” skirt.

A craft technique developed from leftover canvas pieces found on the school sewing room bins. The canvas went through a process of applying puff paint and gloss to achieve a rubber-like texture, similar to leather.

The tile pattern is inspired by Amsterdam, its map and particular canal distribution through the rings. Influenced by Mondrian himself, the map was turned into one of De Stijl’s painting, creating a grid of tiles that corresponds to this map.

Translating the city to the clothes, and the clothes to art.
