Hearing Lyla talk about her books and writing journey were so amazing and inspirational. Rebel Blue Ranch is one of my fav small town cowboy romances and definitely underrated, so finally being meet the author behind the books was a dream come true!!!! I’m so sorry for stumbling over my words, I was so anxious and in awe 😓😓

I did read Soul Searching last month and I rlly liked it!!! It was so unique with the plot, romance, and the elements of ghosts, something I haven’t read before!!! And I fell in love with the town, Sweetwater Peak. It was the perfect mix of small town cosy vibes and spookiness!! I’m super excited to read Free Falling next, I just have a feeling that Clarke and Leith will become a fav of mine 🫶

OOOH AND I can’t wait for the next new release 👀

A reading update through my last, now, and next books ੈ✩‧₊˚

I think this year is the first that I won’t be reaching my reading goal, but that’s okay. I have come to terms with it and honestly just happy that I am at least reading!! As this year has been really hectic for me with lots of changes in my life. Like I’m in my final semester of uni… with 4 weeks left to go… which is so crazy and makes me emotional thinking about it but also I’m ready for the next chapter of my life 🥹🤗 So this is just a reminder to everyone that you are a reader regardless of how many books you read in a year, and as long as you’re enjoying what you’re reading, that’s all that matters.

This genuinely was the best reading month I’ve ever had because all the books I’ve read did not disappoint me at all!!! You’ve probably seen me already talk about these books before AND they deserve to be seen 🤗🤗 Some of these are now my favs and I will not shut up about them so please go read it 🙏🫶

I knowwww I’m taking forever to read The Jasad Heir… it’s because I haven’t been in a fantasy mood 😓😓 But from what I’ve read so far, I really like it!!! It does remind me of This Woven kingdom tho!!

@authorkbritchie is doing it again with the emotional damage… I loveeeee Luka and Bailey so much and it genuinely breaks my heart every time I read a page from their book so that’s why I’ve been slowly reading it AND also I don’t want the circus fam to end 🥹🥹 like the Kotovas are the best ever 🥹🥹 KBR always writes the best family bonds and this series deserves wayyy more hype!!!

I will probably finish Better Than Revenge tonight!! I am enjoying this book more than I expected. I do love a fun and silly sports romance book ☺️😛 But I do find some of the writing to be cringey tho… but Heath is a cutie so that’s all that matters 🤗

Grim Tidings by B. K. Borison ARC review 🪽

WOW so I went in reading Grim Tidings with no expectations at all and didn’t rlly know what to expect. And it ended up being my 2nd 5 star read of the year! I genuinely could not stop reading this one.

Darcy is a Grim Reaper who is tired of her role in taking people’s lives to the underworld. So, she decides she wants to save her next victim. While, Gabriel is a Guardian Angel whose goal is to save everyone. So being eternal rivals, Gabriel is skeptical about Darcy, but soon realises they are after the same thing.

Everything about this book was perfection - the romance, the characters, the pacing, and the plot. Darcy and Gabriel are such amazing characters and their banter got me giggling and kicking my feet 🤭🤭

This was highkey a very emotional read for me (lots of tears were shed 😪😪), especially with the death aspect of the book. I really connect with both the main characters, particularly Darcy, as she originally believed that death is the end of someone’s life. Which I did too before reading Grim Tidings. But B. K. Borison’s writing throughout this story was just so beautiful and reading about Darcy’s journey into figuring out that death is actually more than the end felt rlly comforting for me. As this year, I unfortunately experienced the passing of two family members, hence why this gave me hope and comfort that I needed that I didn’t know I did before. And Gabriel’s believed that his whole purpose was to save everyone, which made him feel like he carried a lot of weight on his shoulders.

B. K. Borison I am now a big fan of you. And now I’m excited to read Good Spirits, as someone that does not rlly like holiday books 😓 BUT IK I WILL ENJOY IT!

I highly recommended everyone go read Grim Tidings. It is out TMR in the US !!! So go grab your copy 🫵🫵🫵!! And it’s such a perfect read with Halloween coming up or if you’re after a cosy small town romance!

a lil photo dump from my month in japan back in june-july ˙⋆✮⋆·˚ ༘ *

i was able to stay at sendai, osaka, and tokyo (+ day trips to kyoto, nara, and kamakura)! my one month in japan was so amazing but summer in japan is no joke. i was dying from the heat and humidity 😭😭 but it was worth it cause we had so many yummy food, matcha, AND our money was well spent on cds (tower records i miss you 😪)

and i was able to meet up with my pookie @ivyysdreams and go nara together 🥹🫶 not pictured but we def hit up some bookstores 😛

btw this is 20 pics out of the 10k photos taken 😭😭

Undone by Peyton Corinne ARC Review 🌠🎨

Undone is the fourth and final book in the series. It follows the story of Lily LaBlanc and Toren Kane, who were once childhood best friends and lovers, and has always stuck by with one another. But was forced to be apart. As you read Undone, you experience the second chance they had of them finding each other again as Lily’s dad becomes assistant coach to his ice hockey team, and this brings up past emotions.

Undone was genuinely pure vibes and the way Peyton wrote it made me love Toren even more. Toren, my man, he’s so misunderstood. From the previous books, he is like a bad guy. But reading his pov, you can tell he’s just a big softie underneath it with a very loyal side of him. Lily, the girl whose he’s been in love with since a child, a lover of painting and lives off Van Gogh, is so precious. She is so precious and deserves all the happiness in the world. They both deserve the biggest hug ever after all the experiences they’ve faced, while hiding their personal struggles. Lily hides parts of who she is and her depression, while Toren struggles with his own doubts and trauma.

Their relationship shows how they are meant to be. As people consider them weird, but that just makes them better and become outcasts together. You can see how much Toren loves Lily bc all of his tattoos are of her HELLO 🥹🥹🥹 And how all they ever dream of is for to have friends, family, and a home. Which they do end up having.

HOLDEN. OH HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU. Him and his friendship w Toren were just amazing and seeing they have each others back, regardless of anything, makes me so emotional and reflect on his growth throughout the series 🥹🥹 oh Paloma, my sweet girl, her friendship with Lily is so heartwarming 🥹🥹 Seeing their friendship from Lily’s pov makes it even more special. And an even underrated friendship that I really really loved is Toren and Paloma. Like they just have this sec by @natalieesdiary

My current read: The Jasad Heir by @shashemwrites

This has been on my tbr for a whileeeee and I’ve finally decided to be brave and pick it up (only reason I didn’t start it earlier is bc I’m not ready to be emotionally destroyed… still am not). I am 75 pages into the book so I can’t say much on it right now but I was quite lost in the beginning (as like every other fantasy book 😓). It is picking up now and I have liked what I have read so far 🤗🤗

I am also reading Undone by @peytoncorinneauthor (super lucky and grateful to be able to get the e-arc from @hachetteaus @thebookishtype_hau 🫶🫶) I got 15% left of the book and I’m loving it so much. Oh Toren and Lily, you are just so precious 🥹🥹 I’m trying to savour what I have left bc what do you mean it’s the end of the series 😭😭

Silver Sweet by Krista & Becca Ritchie Review 🎸🎶💜

KBR has done it again. I love everything they write and the lore drop in Silver Sweet made my jaw drop each time (even from the very beginning). This was genuinely an emotional book and every page was sooo worth it. It made me keep reading without putting the book down!

Silver Sweet follows the story of Tom Cobalt and Phoenix St. Pierre as they are forced to work together in a band if they want to pursue the rockstar career. And they fell in love with each other ofc. But Silver Sweet is more than that and it showcases their personal experiences and their journal to growth as both individual and within relationship. I loveeee Tom and Phoenix so much and seeing their determination to following their dreams despite everything that tries to stop them inspires me to be the same 💜

What I love most about Silver Sweet (and the Cobalt Empire series) is the big focus around sibling relationships with both the Cobalts and St. Pierre. oh the cobalt fam are my fam and will always have a piece of my heart. Seeing how Tom and Phoenix worrying, caring, and just being there for their siblings makes me so emotional 🥹🥹🥹 Not just them but also the rest of the Cobalts, especially Charlie and Beckett 🥹🥹

I was quite sad that there was not enough scenes with the other addicted characters. Like I do understand that they aren’t able to fit them all in the book but justice for more Luna scenes 😭 Surprisingly I did like Eliot more because of all his appearance within Silver Sweet and I’m super excited for his book! I also cannot wait for Loathed Love, I just know that one will for sure destroy me (tbh all books that KBR writes does 😓)

Anyways I can keep talking about this book and the universe forever! If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend you to read the addicted/calloway sisters series (while yes you don’t technically have to read it for cobalt empire but it is soooo worth it trust meeee 🫶)

My Chloe Gong collection and all my books are all signed by her so I can die happily now (pls bury these books with me in my grave)

2 weeks ago, I attended the book launch for Eyes of Kings, the 3rd book in the Flesh and False Gods series) and had the best time listening to Chloe talk about her books!! (I still have not read the series yet… I’m a fraud SORRY). But 5 years ago, I picked up These Violent Delights and ever since then the Secret Shanghai universe means so much to me. I was able to fall in love with Chloe’s characters, world building, and writing. And in a way I grew up reading her books and waiting for her new releases 🥹 So being able to meet Chloe for the first time was a dream come true.

Thank you so much for signing all my books. You are the best ever and I love you. Pls don’t ever stop writing, even tho I will crash out everytime I read your book (in both a good and bad way because it emotionally destroys me 😀)

Anyways I’m super excited to read Flesh and False Gods now because the trilogy is now complete and I don’t have to wait for the cliffhanger hehe AND the release of Deadlock needs to come quicker 🙏🙏 Pls take this as a sign to read a Chloe Gong book because you will not be disappointed 💖 by @natalieesdiary

May was such a big month for me with lots of changes but I thugged it out 😛😛 It was filled with bookish things and fangirling (which are the best things ever duh)

I went to my first @sydwritersfest with my book pookies and had the best time ever!! I was able to see so many amazing authors and listen to them talk about their books, which I can’t wait to read. You’ll definitely be seeing me there again ☺️☺️

I also went to Audrey Hobert’s The Stairway to Stardom concert and the vibes were soooo amazing 🌟💖 (side note: I heard sue me live the night before off campus came out 😛)

oh and I ofc miss cobolloway (and lilo) 🥹🥹🥹 connor cobalt is still the loml ☺️☺️ I will be continuing my addicted/calloway sisters reread soon (which is lowkey taking me forever bc I’m dragging it out). I READ SILVER SWEET RECENTLY AND I LOVEEEEEE TOM AND PHOENIX 4 STARS FROM ME AND I MISS MY COBALT FAM EVERYDAY 😭😭

My next reads 📖💫

I love my down under chinese authors, especially Chloe Gong and Ann Liang. Every book I’ve read by them has destroyed me emotionally and mentally 😭 Pls never stop writing tho. And I’m seeing Chloe Gong tmr for her new book launch for Eyes of Kings, which is soooo exciting (yeah.. guilty for not reading the series yet… pls forgive me…).

Anyways I am finally back (again for the 100th time…). These past few months have been hectic, especially with Japan, internship, and uni, but now I finally have the time to read AND I’m out of a reading slump so you will def be seeing more of me 🕺
