Wearing the traditional Magar gunyo cholo to celebrate my birthday in Nepal!
I was once again blown away by how incredibly welcoming and warm people are from all different ethnic groups in Nepal, and how vastly different traditional costumes, music and customs can be.

Through connecting and sharing cultures, we gain a deeper understanding of the people we meet on our journeys. Highlighting and honoring local traditions is at the heart of everything we do at Treehope Travel.
So grateful for another unforgettable day, and especially Jasmati Magar and Devi Pulami for their beauty, time and giggles dressing me.

GoFundMe Update 🇳🇵🙏🏽✨
Your next relief items have arrived! These small, simple items are vital for the villagers in the Kispang rural municipality.

Here is the update from CIUD -

"Buckets (15L) are to ensure storage of safe drinking water, we have provided solar lamps (100W) for the communities, and hygiene kits are for maintaining individual hygiene it includes (Soaps, Comb, tooth brushes, toothpaste, Shampoo, sanitary napkins, face masks).
120 families were supported with all these items.
Hygiene kits were packed in ziplock bags so that they can be reused.
Our hygiene officer was there so communities are briefed about the kit and to maintain the cleanliness of surroundings as well."

(We are deeply committed to the environment, and whilst our immediate focus is urgent relief, we are actively looking for ways to deepen our environmental awareness in the future. Please rest assured that we have already prioritised reusable items over single-use ones wherever possible to minimise our footprint right from the start...) 🙏🏽🌿

🌎We are also delighted to share that our relief work fundraising now has wonderful new support from the RUHS Outdoor Club (Redondo Beach, CA)!
They were inspired by Nolan, a young Nepali student living in the US and the nephew of a tour leader and great friends of ours from Nepal.
Nolan and the RUHS Outdoor Club team have stepped up in a big way to raise awareness about the disaster and collect funds for our GoFundMe to support relief work with CIUD.

Tihar festival is quite possibly the best festival ever and an incredible time to be in NEPAL
The festival of lights, colors, and pure magic. From honoring crows and dogs to celebrating the unbreakable bond of siblings, Tihar fills the streets of Nepal with an unmatched warmth. Rangoli at the doorstep, streets full of food, colour, flowers, lights and music and a heart full of gratitude.

This year it runs from November 6 - 10

GOFUNDME UPDATE 🙏🏽🇳🇵

Thank you so much to the cheerful and efficient volunteers from Sri Matri Aurobindo Vidyalaya who assisted CIUD today in packing the hygiene kits, solar cookers and water buckets for around 100 families affected by the recent floods in Nepal.

These essential supplies were bought directly with YOUR donations and will be transported early this week to the specific areas requested by local municipalities in the Kispang rural municipality.

We have been asked to keep the GoFundMe open for another few weeks as fundraising is now taking place in the USA to support our efforts. Please continue to share!

We are helping to support CIUD who are coordinating with the District Administration Office, Nuwakot

This is my final request for the Disaster Relief Fund for Isolated Villages in Nepal GoFundMe before I close it down and focus on supporting Nepal through my sustainably focused, immersive bespoke travel business and continuing to build on some of the long term community projects I started on my trip to Nepal earlier this year.

We would gratefully welcome any donations by Sunday, which will go directly towards the following relief items -

Induction Cookers: for 400 households
Solar Sets: 1,500 sets Bio-Sand Filters: For 400 households
