Sometimes the first day of school doesn’t look the way you thought it would. We moved to a neighborhood with amazing schools and people, but our kiddos needed a different path. Grateful for the communities surrounding and supporting them as they enter 8th and 9th grade.

13.1 miles through wine country at the Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon. Massive shoutout to the spectators holding signs reminding us that “the wine is getting warm” — honestly the only motivation we needed to cross that finish line. 🍷🏅

10 years since the Pulse massacre. Our 5th run honoring the 49 angels.

This year hit differently. Our son asked, “Do I have to do this?”

I said, “No — it’s just important to us.”

He showed up. He ran.

Happy 13th birthday to our favorite son today. Presents, donuts, feeding hash browns to the dogs in the car, Mexican for dinner, family call time, dessert overload and a movie to cap off the night. We can’t wait to see what the next year has in store.
