Happy Valentine’s Day to my love, my co-pup-parent, my travel buddy, my everything.

A few months ago, after my dad passed, I wanted to put up a post about how much Josue had helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life. And yet, since then, I’ve stopped speaking with my mother, and most recently had my full-time job’s program contract unexpectedly severed. Difficult is an understatement.

The only thing more profound than all I’ve experienced recently, has been Josue’s unwavering commitment to me. He has literally and figuratively picked me up off all the floor more than a few times. He’s helped me pick up the pieces of a broken mind and a shattered heart. He is carrying me more than my pride lets me accept.

So much of the discourse around dating includes prerequisites and absolute necessities of having everything about you nearly perfect in order to qualify to date someone. So much of my maturation and growth as an adult has come from Josue dragging me through each lesson. They’re lessons I never got from my parents and that I might never have learned on my own.

So I’ll share some sentiments Rachel Maddow shared about her partner Susan after a very scary battle with Covid a year ago.

“[He] is the center of my universe. And it’s not even like, [he’s] the Sun, and I’m the planet. It’s more desperate and pitiful than that. [He’s] the planet and I’m the satellite up there…just beep beep beeping at [him] and blinking my lights and just trying to make [him] happy.

I am one of the lucky people on this Earth that has a life like that. [He’s] the center of my life. [He’s] the organizing principle of my life.”

When I was 10 years old, an academic in a long coat who's named after the official tree of the United States...asked me one of the most important questions of my life and I've been a fkn nerd since.

Big thanks to @_djtomi_ for the invite to come to Pokémon Worlds in San Francisco. This video game franchise has taken on so much meaning in my life over the last 30 years and is to thank for more of my close personal friendships than most people might realize. Our time here has fortified my love of being a gaymer.

Tommy and I have been friends for a while, but the franchise has built out a whole new facet of our friendship. Of the handful of national gaming events I've gone to, this is the first time I've gone with someone else, and I didn't realize how much more enjoyable this all could be if I wasn't just doing it solo.

Though, throughout most of the lead up to and time of the trip I was saying "I'm going to SF for a thing." 😅😬 Meanwhile every person Tommy met in SF got a: "We're here for the Pokemon convention!" 🗣️📢

Seeing my LB Brian and a bunch of bros here while registering in line was nothing short of cosmic.

Anyways, my surprise Mewtwo was a hundo and my Rayquaza was shiny and you can't pay for that kind of luck.

This weekend we celebrated 5 years of having Luna. She came into our lives just before things got very crazy, and I can't imagine how we'd have navigated all of that without this beautiful little ball of sunshine. She is glued to us and us to her. We're so thankful to have her in our family.

Shout out to her uncles @thedoublegee, @broadway3rd, @drplatanooo, @brandon_t_boxbaum, @_djtomi_, @vintesta, and @don_ralph329 for all the times they've watched her when we've been away.

Last week, @sigmalambdabeta hosted its annual convention and celebrated 40 years since our founding. I'm honored to have been re-elected Vice President of Campus Engagement for the 2026-2030 term.

@texasbetas made me proud and picked up a couple pieces of hardware.

This year's BETACON moved my soul and heart in a way I didn't expect. I was reminded of the love, the challenges, and the wins that come with commitment to The Most Honorable. I am inspired and motivated to continue the good work.
