defeat is glorious in 9 years, this is the first time i’ve competed at nationals and returned without an individual medal or making the individual national team roster•I’ve been quiet on socials since October because i’ve been lost. i wasn’t sure what to put out there because i wasn’t sure myself. i’ve been lost amidst the chaos of injuries, health, burnout & decisions. •the new competition rules proved challenging, but regardless of what people say, at the end of the day it all falls to you. time to re-evaluate and accept the challenges ahead. •this loss is not discouraging, but rather eye-opening. while the path ahead is not clear, i’m grateful to be able to experience this 🙇‍♂️•congratulations to my teammates & competitors. special congratulations to @harukimori__ for his performance 🥇 🙇‍♂️ happy for you all.•Thank you all who continue to support me even in loss ❤️ •🔜 🇧🇷 PKF team kata by @nathan.yuki

Sr PKF 2025 - Team🥉 -a great taste of what’s possible☝️-despite my persisting injury weighing me down, we’re able to make it here 🙏🏼. let’s continue to grow & adapt. life’s a grind.🥈18 months & 2 surgeries later — we’re finally back to competition ❤️ (and it’s nationals!)senior kata🥈senior team kata🥇 u21 kata 5tha little disappointed with the results — but considering the circumstances, i think i did alright 🫶🏻. it’s nice to know that despite some setbacks, obstacles can be overcome!grateful to come back with presence right out of injury, especially with minimal allotted training time. over the past year i’ve done everything in my power to get back to this, and while i’m not there yet, this is a good step 📈it’s taken a lot of sacrifice (and will continue to), but these sacrifices are not from me alone.a huge thank you to my physio @isabelswitt for keeping it real during this rehab. thank you to my family, teammates, sponsors, friends & coaches who support me and make decisions with me in mind ❤️My knee rehab & competitive career is far from over, we’re just getting started. Round 2 ✅thankful to my physio @isabelswitt for pushing to get this done & to Dr. Heard, his team and hospital staff for getting me in quick and operating on Christmas Eve🙏🏼was having some issues with the knee so we decided to get it cleaned up. local freezing followed by the removal of the suture end on the lateral meniscus which had been irritating my femur & causing irregular swelling around the knee whenever i’d do basic movements! also removed some scar tissue under the knee cap whilst getting to watch the whole surgery live! (pretty cool for a kin student 🤙)although this is a small setback, my rehab should now be accelerated as i won’t have to take a step back every time i step forward🤞Would never have guessed i’d be into my second surgery just 41 weeks after the first one and yet so grateful for everything that’s happened since being injured 378 days ago. Time for a short bit of rest then back to it. I’ve grown so much from this and I couldn’t be more content with the journey i’m on. Merry Christmas y’all ❤️ by @nathan.yuki
