Cold, wet, late fall weather but I'd rather be in the mountains than anywhere else. 🤙

Freshly oiled, waterproof boots give me the fizz.

Pro Tips:

• Clean your laces. Dirt can abrade the fibers over time and cause them to prematurely fail.

• A hairdryer works wonders for helping the oil melt and soak into the leather once it's applied.

• I just use hot water and a stiff bristle brush to clean. Never use soap. (Saddle soap is probably fine) Let them dry thoroughly, then apply waterproofing.

• Don't forget your leather heel stack.

• Kilties need love too. I just apply the excess to these. They're a wear item so it's not critical.

• If you're getting water ingress, it's time for oil. I can stand in a creek just after I do these and stay dry.

Your boots are the most important piece of gear you have. Take care of them and they'll take care of you.

After a 3 month wait, BATFE extortion stamp came back and I finally got my first can to finish my small game/woods PDW build. Courtesy of @centertarget, @silencershop, and @deadairsilencers. 🤫 🇺🇲

Now I can hunt freely (discretely) without hearing protection, and without scaring game. That's a big deal to me. I'll post some shooting video to give an idea of how quiet this is going to be with supers and subs. Groups and POI shift with both. I have a suspicion this Kel Tec is going to like subs...

Yeah, I'm thinking this view is too good not to post.

HWY 90 to Cumberland Falls, KY. Favorite place to ride currently.

HWY 90, Cumberland Falls

You can't really see it here, but there's a little waterfall coming over the side of the cliff.

Kayak fishing day with the boys

Caught 8 Kentucky Bass in total on a soft plastic lizard. They consistently seem to like these.
