We are delighted to announce that we will be presenting Kutluğ Ataman’s Küba at Art Basel Paris as part of the fair’s Public Programme. It will be sited at the Chapelle des Petits-Augustins at the Beaux-Arts de Paris.

Küba (2004) is one of the defining moving image installations of the early twenty-first century. First presented by Artangel in London, the work has subsequently been shown at the Carnegie International, Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and museums and institutions internationally.

Made in 2004, Küba brought together forty testimonies that are intimate, overlapping, bleak, humorous and defiant in turn; a babble of voices of the residents of an unauthorised, informal settlement in Istanbul. Together they ask how a community and a sense of belonging, might be constructed in the most precarious of circumstances.

Twenty-two years later, Küba returns to a world in which such questions around belonging and community is increasingly contested; who gets to determine that belonging, and whose claims to place can be erased.

To accompany Isaac Julien’s first survey exhibition in Italy, ‘Museum Dreams’ at @gres_art_671, we made a new monograph publication. It was conceived as a montage of series of images, texts, and sequences resembling Julien’s multi-screen installation art. There are great texts inside: Julian Lucas offers a new reading of Once Again… (Statues Never Die), Giuliana Bruno brings her signature elegance to Lina Bo Bardi – A Marvellous Entanglement, José Esteban Muñoz’s text on The Long Road to Mazatlán reflects on queerness and utopia, resonating with Julien’s notion of “dreaming” as a critical act. Alongside an introduction, I also wrote a perspective on Vagabondia and Baltimore, articulating their place within the exhibition and Julien’s broader work. @isaacjulien @rob.pesenti @jcljules @francescaacquati @irezamboni. It was designed by @studiotemp and thanks to them for the images. by @nathanjladd

‘Museum Dreams’ is the first retrospective in Italy dedicated to the work of @isaacjulien - open now at @gres_art_671 . It brings together five major film installations, alongside photography, sculpture and archival material. Across 30 years of Julien’s expansive practice, ‘Museum Dreams’ proposes the museum as a site of desire and entanglement - between past and present, memory and imagination, change and imagination. I’m very grateful to have been invited to curate this remarkable project. Thank you to the whole team at gres art 671 - Roberto, Francesca, Irene, Stefano, Leonardo and many more. And thank you Isaac for your trust and collaboration to bring this incredible project to fruition! The exhibition is open until the 4 October. taken in gres art 671 by @nathanjladd

A few install shots at the end of the opening week of the survey exhibition of Ed Atkins at Tate Britain. It’s been a singularly incredible project to work on over the last three years with @polly.staple and @hannah_marsh__ in close collaboration the whole way with @edatkinsdiet. The exhibition assembles 15 years of Atkins’ work in moving-image, drawing, painting, writing and embroidery. It was a huge team effort to pull off the production, conservation and installation of this exhibition that was only possible with the phenomenal team at Tate Britain. It’s open now and runs until the 25 August. taken in Tate Britain by @nathanjladd

On Friday we open Art Now: Hylozoic/Desires (@himalisinghsoin and @davidsointappeser) at Tate Britain. In ‘The Hedge of Halomancy’, Hylozoic/Desires excavate the lost archive of the Inland Customs Line through a new moving-image installation, bringing together historical records with speculative imaginings to penetrate the porosity of this barrier. At Tate Britain it has been curated by me and @dominique_h_m_ .

Hylozoic/Desires have been making and collaborating across several continents. The new film, ‘The Hedge of Halomancy’ 2025, has been co-commissioned and simultaneously shown by Tate Britain and @sharjahart @amalandaplan, while @somersethouse are also concurrently presenting their sculptural commission ‘namak halal/namak’ from the same family of work, curated by @clifflauson
