So here she is. Old Liz, my first proper van. Ripped out and started a fresh. This thing has been to every corner of the UK and beyond, we've got no end of memories together, we've been on countless adventures and oh man have I enjoyed kitting her out properly.
The first conversion was a little slap dash and thrown together but if you couldn't tell I've grown rather fond over the years and selling her without doing her justice really didn't sit right with me.

I've tried to pull elements into the design that reflect the time I spent here, places to put things, but not too many things, places to rest, places to sleep, to wash, to cook and just stop for a moment.
Airy and light like the breeze which'll blow through, cosy, safe and warm like a den. Materials that have inherent beauty in their own right. That are nice to touch and be in the presence of.
The electric can last you indefinitely. The water should last you a week or so and there's plenty of room for food, clothes and equipment.

I've spent countless hours in all manner of situations sat, lay and stood in and around this van, painting, chilling, sewing, making, surfing, swimming, climbing, walking.. Time for those things looks a little different now and I'd like to make a space which reflects the family and our growing needs and henceforth Old Liz is available for some new adventures.

If you're interested and would like a list of inner workings, gadgets and gizmos please be in contact.

Gorgeously framed snippets of nature.
To lie and watch the trees sway gently in the wind as a small breeze flows in through the open door up and out of the crown.

The largest structure I've covered to date. A 12m (40ft!) Geodome commissioned by @creative_peaks_ . It's been challenging and enjoyable in all the most beautiful ways to create this. To step out from the comfortability and familiarity of yurt cover making and into a more geometric, angular structure.

Intended to be used as a travelling stage and events venue the cover has been made in 6 separate parts to make handling and set up easier.

I've grown fond of the difference in applications and gained a new found admiration for geodesic domes taken in Derbyshire, United Kingdom by @native_nomads_uk

9ft yurt for sale.

The smallest yurt I've made! It's been fitted with a green crown cover and matching canvas roll up door. This can be changed out for any colour to suit your aesthetic and little round windows could also be added into the walls!

It would make a cosy summer house or nice addition to a forest school or nursery.

It can be put up in about an hour and packs down in around 30 minutes, the whole structure can be transported in an estate car too making it super easy to be moved around.

Message for anymore information
Thanks,

This was the second workshop I inhabited from around 2018 until 2021ish. I'd been using a 40ft shipping container until this point where I decided 2 20ft containers were going to give me much more usable space. So off I went. Tractor and trailer across Derbyshire to pick them up. I can't remember if it was the second or third time driving a tractor but it was certainly a little hair raising. Can distinctly remember singing my heart out in pure elation driving back to the yard.
Roughly leveled them up next to each other and cut the sides out with a 4inch angle grinder. I was selling second hand clothes at the time but this is the first space where I had a dedicated area for some inherited tools. taken in Derbyshire, United Kingdom by @native_nomads_uk

I never really intended to be working out of two greenhouses, prior to using them I had converted most of my van underneath an awning that I'd put on the side of it. Starting to slowly play around with some other projects and amassing more tools I was on the look out for something more substantial. There weren't many units I could find nearby but on my doorstep (quite literally) were two rather tired old greenhouses. They were nice and big though and it seemed a good a place as any to start.

So I asked the landowner and he very kindly agreed to let me use them.
They'd lost a lot of glass over the years, were overgrown and full of old farming equipment. The greenhouses are joined in the middle, I cleared out one side initially and bit by bit tidied them up. Eventually taking on both sides and covering them with old lorry tarps to keep out the sun and rain.
They work a treat. I'm really happy with how they're progressing and they constantly evolve round me and the projects. taken in Derbyshire, United Kingdom by @native_nomads_uk

Bell tent base finished in Spring for @hannahfieldsgarden .
Built from reclaimed 2x4's that had been used for a few weeks in a construction project and were heading for the skip.
It's refreshing to see such wood being reused and a stark reminder of the scale of waste produced in our construction industry. Much of it was completely clean, the rest just needed a few screws winding out.

If you've not been over to Hannah Fields it's a great inner city green space offering forest schools and veg boxes amongst much much more! I'd definitely recommend to check it out. taken in Hannah Fields by @native_nomads_uk

A 14ft yurt tucked away in the heart of London.
Commissioned by @melt_chocolates as a space to hold ceremonies, creating a calm retreat meters from the hustle and bustle of the capital.

The frame built from a single Ash tree, the canvas sewn to fit. It was set up and instantly welcomed to life by @nataliekayharmonics where I had the pleasure to rest and be still for a while, taking time to reminisce of the making process. Such a beautiful experience.

I would highly recommend to attend the weekly ceremonies every Wednesday at 6.30pm!

I am selling my 12ft bentwood yurt! 🛖
Built last year and used this season over the summer it's looking pretty much as it did when it came out the workshop.

Due to its 5ft door this would be particularly great for a forest school or nursery looking to have a sheltered space for winter.

If you're wanting a yurt for something different it can be retrofitted with a few options such as;
• A full size door
• A window in the crown cover
• A silicone flashing plate to be used with a log burner
to suit all manner of uses.
For any further information please send me a message ☺️
Or email me at info@nativenomads.co.uk

Thanks !
