My dad if he were alive would think this is so cool. He used to live beside where this mural is located in the 90s. I was part of a small team that got to consult about which artists had Stratfordites in them that fit some of these parameters: were legends, doing numbers on streaming, future stars, and those that have had impact over the years that represent the diverse amount of genres coming from our town. Had to help team whittle down over 150 nominations down to 50 something that could fit on this record and showcase a swath of Stratford talent. Thanks to Kim at the BIA for the opportunity. The art was done by @shanedreverart It really enhances the wall. Let me know in the comments which of these are your favourite Stratford artists. by @natocore

In 2023 my friend @queensunny777 came to visit Stratford from Oslo Norway and brought one of her twin daughters Noelle for a Canadian vacation. We had a fun day getting ice cream, visiting a pet store, feeding squirrels and exploring gardens. We had a fun connection even though we didn’t speak the same language. 3 years later she returned with all her kids as they were jealous Noelle had so much fun in Canada and they wanted a turn. During this visit the twins now 7 years old, I asked them if they wanted to write a song together as a keepsake of their time in Canada. They rose to the challenge. This was their first song they ever wrote. They were inspired by @zaralarsson We took inspiration from the tempo and key of one of their favourite Zara songs and got to business writing a song at 98BPM in Ebm. Noelle and Celine had great musical instincts and performed the midi piano, violin, some pads and percussion on this song. Super impressive and lush for 7 year olds. They had vision. It was my first collab with people that didn’t speak the same language with mom interjecting to help translate from time to time. This session really let the language of music take the lead. There is something special about collaborating with kids that have little to no preconceived notions of how music should be and sometimes you arrive at the greatest musical surprises. This was one of them and was super fun to work on with them. Thanks Sunny for introducing me to your family and sharing your Norwegian culture with me. The song is out October 6th. #musicproducer #oslo #stratford #kidsmusic #chillwave by @natocore

Thought I would introduce myself with my Drum and Bass producer alias. Some of you may not know but I am an eclectic A.D.D producer that has touched on over 40 genres but one of the genres I love working with most and have written over 100 songs in is Drum and Bass. Get to know me and some of my influences a little. #drumandbassmusic #dnb #dnbfamily #musicproducers #ableton by @natocore

Was inspired to make a chillstep and house remix of @ellalangleymusic recently. My dad who was a country artist for much of his musical career was annoyed that I gravitated to electronic music as he said it reminded him of when in 1988 was around the beginning of vinyl djs replacing the demand of some of his gigs for dances that were traditionally featuring live band performances. He saw djs as a threat. Earlier this year I heard Choosin’ Texas on the radio while surfing channels and was drawn to the strong hook. I went down Ella Langley rabbit hole and the one song that popped to me and especially after her interview with Theo Von when she pointed it out was the song Broken. I noticed how it had bpm of 140 and would make for a good chillstep remix. My production teacher said it should have a house section too. When O saw Ella’s warm up video I knew it needed this sound track. It has been a fun experiment merging country country and edm genres and it is kind of a cheeky tribute to my country dad who argued against electronic music. I revel in the correlation and potential of this song Broken to swing a house and dubstep direction. Thanks Ella, you have won me over to the country side. If my dad were still with us, he might be proud today. #Country music #housemusic #ellalangley #musicproduction #yeedm by @natocore

Thinking about my dad today on Father’s Day. This was one of the few songs we wrote together. This was written during my GarageBand on my phone and microkorg stage of my production journey. My dad didn’t understand my indulgence in electronic music as he saw electronic music and DJs as a threat to his own lively careers during late 80s and earlier where he said around 1988 was a time when vinyl djs began replacing demand of his sometimes 4 gigs a week. He said why are you getting into electronic music when you play instruments yourself? But o couldn’t resist the creative possibilities. One night while having dinner with him in 2013 he could see my enthusiasm for power of making music on my phone and he submitting to the idea of creativity and spontaneity and sung this hook into my phone and messed around on the microkorg. This is what he came up with. It was recorded into the GarageBand app on my phone. I wish I had more time to collaborate with my dad and he could see my progression as a producer over the last 13 years. This is a picture of my dad taken by @jonathansippel at the release of my 3rd album Flavours of Inspiration at @revelstratford in 2015 where I released my album on usb inside of a revel muffin. Ron passed away in 2018. I am glad my dad was able to come to my show. It was a nice shared musical memory. by @natocore
