John Muir Trail Day 14: #matherpass Today we went over Mather Pass and it was beyond mesmerizing. I cannot explain the joy we feel when we are high up in the #sierranevada. Both the approach and the ascend were beautiful and exciting. We hiked to Marjorie Lake and had the water had the most perfect turquoise color. We got in the water, lay down in the grass, Sam took a nap and fished. Today was the first time we saw a ranger and asked us for our permits. #johnmuirtrail #jmt @mirandagoesoutside water bottle all along the way and @durstongear for the night taken in John Muir Trail by @natureloveg

John Muir Trail Day 13: We hiked 16 miles to make it to the Lower Palisade Lake. The walk through LeCounte canyon during the heat wave was long and hard form me. I also developed my first and only JMT little blister from hiking with humid socks. The Golden Staircase was way more beautiful than I ever expected, and one of my favorite sections, especially because of the colors on the rocks and the waterfalls. I teared up of how breathtaking it was when getting close to the top. We set up our tent in the shadow of the Middle PAL, at what it felt like an island on the Lake. John Muir Trail Day 12: I lost count of how many lakes we passed on this day, but I swam in 2 of them, and Sam in 3. Our favorite was Helen lake below the Muir Pass, it truly had the clearest water we had ever seen in an alpine lake. We saw several spectacular waterfalls and had the widest creek crossing of the entire trail. My hands were dark brown from the dirt and the tan. Also had a painful sunburn on my legs by the time we made it to Starr Camp for the night. We were so sore that day! But it was wonderful and surreal to finally see Muir pass in person #johnmuirtrail #jmt #sierranevada #waterfalls taken in John Muir Trail by @natureloveg

First day of Fall in the Sierra. From South Lake to Mt. No Goode sitting at 12,916 ft of elevation. Most lakes were mirroring and it was truly gorgeous all the way up. It was also starting to snow when we made it to the car #sierranevada #easternsierra #fall taken in Sierra Nevada by @natureloveg

John Muir Trail Day 11: We left Muir Trail Ranch (MTR) with a full bear canister from our re-supply. This time, hiking out with our trail family, @carlisletutlis and @hammerisatool.
