Animal abuse and domestic abuse are closely linked, yet this connection often goes unrecognised. 💜 Ask your MP to display a Purple Paw sticker and help raise awareness of the need to protect BOTH animals and people. Comment PURPLE for the link! #PurplePaw #ProtectAnimalsProtectPeople by @naturewatchfoundation

Help us end wildlife crime in the UK! 🦌 From illegally targeting wildlife with dogs to catapult cruelty, we’re working to expose wildlife crime and protect animals from persecution and abuse. You can be there for them too. Will you help us win £5,000 in Benefact Group’s Movement for Good draw? Nominate Naturewatch Foundation today – it OPENS TODAY and it’ll only take a minute! A windfall like this could help us do even more to protect animals – investigating animal crime, supporting frontline organisations with grants, funding spay-neuter projects, creating vital campaign resources and more. Nominations are open from 5-18 October. If you've already nominated another charity, that’s OK – you can support as many causes as you like. (Thank you to everyone who voted for us in the recent £1,000 draw – we didn’t win that time, but let’s keep our fingers crossed for this one!) 🤞 Please vote for us via the link in our bio or comment ‘VOTE’ to be sent a link to the form. #ProtectingWildlife #MovementForGood A close-up of a deer's face on a dark background. 🐶 Across the UK, many dogs and puppies are being exploited for profit. Illegal and low-welfare breeders don’t care about dog welfare: * Puppies are sometimes poorly, under-socialised and taken from their mums too early. * Adult dogs are repeatedly bred from and often spend much of their lives in appalling conditions. These poor dogs can’t speak up for themselves – but you can, and we’re here to listen. If you suspect someone of illegally breeding or selling puppies, report it to our investigators. They will look into your leads and pass credible information to the relevant authorities. Please share this post – even if you don’t know anything, your friends and family might! By working together, we can help end puppy farming. 🤝 Our checklist highlights the information we need to get the best possible outcome, and you’ll find the reporting form via the link in our bio. Alternatively, you can contact our investigations team by phone or email: 📧 EMAIL: puppyfarming@naturewatch.org 📱 PHONE: 07392 185 373 🙏 Thank you for speaking up for dogs and puppies. #EndPuppyFarming #DogsOfInstagram A small, white and tan puppy with large dark eyes looks through a metal wire cage. 💙💛 In Ukraine, animals need our help more than ever. From preventing unwanted litters to supporting rescuers working on the frontline, we’re here for them. We fund sterilisation programmes and provide vital equipment and supplies for the small organisations that do incredible work – including co-funding a rescue vehicle for our partner Victoria at Promin Myloserdya (pictured). 🐶🐱 A simple nomination could help us make a difference for more animals in the UK, Eastern Europe and around the world. Please nominate us to win £5,000 in Benefact Group’s Movement for Good draw. 👉 The link’s in our bio or you can comment ‘VOTE’ to be sent a link to the form. Thank you! Closing date: 18 October. (It doesn’t matter if you’ve already nominated a charity in the draw – you can support as many as you like!) #AdvancingAnimalWelfare #EasternEuroAnimals #MovementForGood A smiling woman holds a white and grey dog next to a white van. "Cruelty towards animals can be an important warning sign of the control, intimidation and harm often seen in abusive relationships" Animal cruelty is never just about animals. Recognising these warning signs can help protect both people and animals from harm. #HollysLaw #ProtectAnimalsProtectPeople by @naturewatchfoundation

💙💛 It’s good to see animal cruelty, and the wider risks it can pose to people, being taken seriously in Ukraine. 🦔 A woman in Chernihiv has been sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of brutally killing a pregnant hedgehog, and her four unborn babies, by repeatedly kicking her. 😢 The woman was convicted of animal cruelty under Part 3 of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court found that she knew exactly what she was doing and was able to control her actions at the time. A pre-trial assessment said that she posed a high risk to the public and was likely to offend again. Nothing can undo what happened or bring the poor hedgehog and her unborn babies back. But this case is an important example of how strong animal protection laws can help provide justice for animals. 🐾 https://thebridgemedia.com.ua/en/chernihiv-woman-sentenced-five-years-killing-pregnant-hedgehog/ #EasternEuroAnimals #BreakingTheLink A hedgehog on a dirt path with text stating a woman in Ukraine was sentenced to five years in prison for killing a pregnant hedgehog. 🔍 A major shift in legislation yesterday and a step forward within our Protect Animals. Protect People campaign. For the first time, where an offence is motivated by domestic abuse, that connection must be recognised in court. But, if we don’t ask, we may never see the full picture. #BreakingTheLink #ProtectAnimalsProtectPeople by @naturewatchfoundation
