Missing Scotland every day!

I’m so glad that I took the leap and signed up for this @rachelisknitting Knitting Tour and even more grateful that my sister @_toriiiiia came with me. There were so many special moments on the trip. These photos are just a few from the start of our journey. Life is Good!

And August was a big part of that! August was for adventure. August was for being brave, trying something different, and having a good time with family and friends, both new and old.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a busier summer but I wouldn’t change it for a thing. It was filled with love, sun, laughs, good food, and better company. Grateful for the ones I love and for a good life. From weddings, to Flock, meeting new crafty friends and reconnecting with old ones, to exploring PNW with my dad, and celebrating my bestie as a bride to be. There are so many moments that I won’t forget.

Hope you had a moment (or a few) that brought you some peace and a smile!

I’m a Barbie Girl in a Knitting World 💖

Barbie’s in Brooklyn and wearing handmade knits! @thewanderingflock and @cleosyarnshop gave me a them and I came prepared! 💅🏾💁🏾‍♀️

Had so much fun yesterday in my #MiniMockNeckTank and meeting Geraldine from @thewanderingflock in her studio and so many other crafters for Barbie themed Happy Hour at @cleosyarnshop. Can’t wait for the next one!

Yarn Crawl with Me for #LocalYarnStoreDay. I was able to visit half of the 22 stores participating in this year’s @newjerseywoolwalk held April 26-30. Everyone was so kind and the yarns were impeccable. I’ll definitely be back for more ☺️

My #TolstaTee is finished! I completed my first ever #testknit for @the.creabea last week and now I’ve caught the summer knitting bug 🤭😎🧶. I’ve worn my Tolsta non stop since blocking and I already have two more Tolsta’s planned (in #loopsandthreads Capri Eco Cotton from @michaelsstores and @rico_design Lazy Hazy Cotton). Everything I made last year! Seeing it all in one place makes me appreciate my art and skill even more. I’ve been knitting since about sixth grade (shout out to AHA AfterCare with Ms Vickie) but I’ve always been intimidated by some patterns despite my love of the craft. In late 2021, I learned to crochet from watching YouTube videos. Thanks to crafters like @tlyarncrafts, @hey_carriex and @itserinb was finally able to move beyond one long continuous chain (young Náyla could not figure out how to turn a row 😅). I couldn’t believe how easy crochet was and how quick! I moved beyond accessories and was actually able to make wearable garments (color me surprised what following instructions can do 😆). Finding the KopyDolls (@kopykali, @kahilah, and @mrbobvin), @alexandrasgarn and @handmadebyflorence gave me courage to try my knitting again. I even visited local yarn stores @knitapestry and @yarnia and got great advice for making my first sweater. The garments have been nonstop since then. I love the rush I get completing a project, whether for myself or to gift to someone I love. I am so excited to continue making and seeing where this fiber journey takes me. Don’t ask me about my yarn budget for the year, it’s obscene 🙈. But if you’re nice, maybe you’ll get your own ☺️
