POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Telling their own stories, in their own words, on their own terms.

Our South Asia Gallery, a partnership with @britishmuseum, was co-curated with 30 inspiring community members from across the South Asian diaspora.

As a result, the gallery has created a sense of belonging where it didn’t exist before, while opening conversations around ownership and identity.

Here, @nazma.knows tells the story of the object she chose for the gallery, a Cartier brooch that is currently on loan from The British Museum. by @nazma.knows

Didn’t have this on my bingo card for 2023 🤩
My face on the side of a building! For a short time the @mcrmuseum South Asia Gallery promo video was projected onto the “tin can” across the road.

Really pleased to be joining the Peanut Butter & Blueberries marketing team working on audience development for this amazing show coming to @leedsplayhouse 22 Oct - 7 November.

When it premiered (and sold out!) at @kilntheatre in 2024 I was already a fan of the writer @thebrownhijabi and director @_foodismyfriend and seeing this show solidified how great they both are and also how theatres can adapt to fit the stories on stage (in this case with prayer spaces and an alcohol-free environment).

I’m super excited to be working with @juliawhitecommunications again and excited for all the new audiences who will get to experience this show. I’ve added the show link to my bio and I’m likely to be constantly talking about this (online and irl) for the next two months. DM me for a discount code! taken in Leeds Playhouse by @nazma.knows

DIY mermaid costume for a fancy dress party! Super impressed with myself for putting this outfit together from 90% stuff I already owned and it was so much fun to wear. And loving how my silver roots matched the vibe 🤍
Big thanks to @ashichick & @alteralias for ideas and inspo 🧜🏾‍♀️🪼🦀🐚 by @nazma.knows

No I’m not writing captions for every single photo 😋
June things: coming home, cakes, flowers, gifts, job searching, sleeping a lot, trains to Glasgow, London and Peterborough, heatwaves, picnics, makeup rooms, book events, board meetings, building a space dimension, a muuuuuuuusical, liberation sounds, an ode to Sinead O’Connor, Mission Mad Hatter, local walks, launching virtual stars and best of all - walks, talks and hanging out with my dad. by @nazma.knows

🕋 You can me Hajiya now 😁
Alhamdulilah what a journey and extra extra special to do this once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage with my parents and my siblings. It wasn’t easy and I’m so glad we had each other for support ❤️

I came off insta whilst I was away, but here’s some of the moments I captured and wanted to share now that I’m back.
