Asian Media Awards 2025! Along with my co-judge @talatfarooqawan I had the honour of choosing a winner for the Best Stage Production award. We deliberated over the 8 amazing nominees and after much discussion, Expendable by @emteazb and directed by @estherpilot was our winner 👏🏾
Huge congrats to all the nominees and winners. It was a lovely evening of celebration. Thanks to the @asianmediaawards team for inviting me to be on the judging panel again!

Film camera pics from a gorgeous afternoon watching @alialjamri_scribbles film The Legend of the Looms at @aiucentre with Q&A hosted by @redwizz1. It’s a beautiful film with stories of connection and heritage and I found myself feeling 🥲 by the end of it. We were invited to bring our own textile item that had a history and meant something to us. I brought in a vintage two-tone silk sari blouse (shown in final pic!) handed down to me by my aunty, and much treasured by me. Some lovely 1:1 conversations followed.
And wow I think the camera loved the Nazma & Nasima selfies 🔥

I’ve had the @comefallinlovemusical title song stuck in my head since seeing the show on Tuesday! It’s a cutesy love story inspired by the iconic Bollywood movie DDLJ and even though musicals aren’t my usual theatre choice I really enjoyed it 🥰 great to see a such a mixed audience and in particular intergenerational South Asian families. I think we’re super lucky to have it premiering here in Manchester.

I still can’t quite believe I did this! The BIG 5 at @howsteangorge - canoeing, caving, via ferrata high wires, 15 metre abseil off a bridge and gorge walking! It was a big deal for someone like me who loves going to the top of a skyscraper but feels shaky and jittery if I have to climb a ladder.
This was the start of my week with @slung_low on their leadership academy residential. I’d only met everyone else 24hrs before we did these activities and wow what a way to get acquainted with each other 😅. I had a few scrapes, wobbles and one point where I froze on the via ferrata unsure if I had it in me to take that seemingly huge step across the rock to the next safe standing point. A pep talk from Tom, our instructor and the kind words and patience from the rest of my new residential buddies helped me through - the first pic is me shortly after I’d got over it (literally) and was happy and confident enough to reach for my phone, hand it to Tom and get a photo 😁. It’s funny cause I felt really nervous moving across the rocks, but much more confident walking across a thin plank bridge over water. I’m sure there’s a learning about myself in there somewhere 🤔.
We don’t have any pics from the abseil or gorge walk but I mega mega enjoyed those (after the bonus challenge of yanking our bodies into wetsuits! for real we had a moment stood in the ladies changing room where we all had to help each other get these things on!). The abseil especially was the most enjoyable thing, once I was off the bridge, sitting comfy in my harness slowly lowering myself down it felt rather peaceful taking in the view around me.
Big love to everyone who made this such an awesome day for me: Tom @howsteangorge , Matt @slung_low , @allstarwilkinsn @natnatnataliechan @emilycoollins @emilycollinsdirects @mishkalesayova @___livingwell

Ramadan 2025. Somehow managed to keep 27 fasts this year 😮. I had intended for it to be a quiet month but even on the days I’d taken off work it didn’t end up being that way! Have had a very restful couple of days for Eid and now refreshed and ready for April/May/June and beyond InshaAllah 🥰

I was invited by @homemcr to host the Q&A for their screening of @before_nikkah 🥰
Good times with the film’s creative team and cast @haider_khayam_zafar @marcusflemmingss @sashavadher @aakash_7

Big love to all my friends who came to the screening especially @shegeekbham a seasoned film Q&A host who gave me lots of support for my first time!
