Evening gathers softly
over rooftops worn by time,
and the sky remembers
how to turn light into prayer.

For a moment,
I remember…there is no need to rush.

Only this—
to look,
to breathe,
to receive
what is already holy.

Change gathers first
like weather over distant hills,
creating darkness to
what we know,
asking us to trust a road
we cannot yet see.

Still, beyond the old rooftops,
the horizon remains open.
What feels like an ending
may simply be the sky
making room for something new
asking us only to trust.

This is where I sit
… now …
but not forever.
I know this …

Blessed with courage,
that I pass to you,
for when the sky grows unfamiliar,
may Grace guide you to release
what can no longer stay,
… and …
with deep, steady trust
through what feels like daunting change,
carry you toward goodness,
growth,
and all the new horizon
holds for you.
May it be so.

Maybe this is your season of becoming, too.

Sometimes the path forward isn’t about having more of things like money, opportunities, answers, or even certainty.

What if it begins with noticing what is already in your hands? Maybe it’s your compassion, your story, your courage, your creativity, or your ability to listen, love, begin again, or making room for others.

These forms of wealth aren’t always talked about in the world, but they matter. They are also things that aren’t often measured, but I promise you if you’ve offered compassion, someone noticed.

So, maybe possibility begins when we offer more fully what we already have.

I used to think peace would come when I knew what happened next.
When the decision was made. When the problem was solved. When the waiting ended.

What if peace is about something else? What if it’s not about certainty … or presence?

What if it’s about one breath, one moment, or one quiet moment of willingness to pause and say, “I don’t know what will happen next, but I’m right here, right now. God is here, and that’s enough.”

What if that’s all we need?

Morning slips through the open window,
soft as a blessing not yet spoken.
The hills receiving the light
without asking what the day will bring.
Maybe we can, too…
As we open hands and hearts
to what has not happened but will,
trusting that somewhere
between darkness and becoming,
the light is already
making a way.

Most days now I’m not in a hurry
as I let minutes, hours, and days unfold slowly
like the sun hitting
ancient stone walls
or green leaves reaching
for a sunny window,
or even a narrow street,
inviting me to wander.
Maybe that’s what
slow days are about—
a holy gift
where I notice life
that was already happening
and just being here,
noticing the plant

Going slow is a process that many struggle with (me included). What if walking slowly is a way to see the beauty around you?

Go slowly.
The stones have waited centuries
to feel your feet.

There is no need
to hurry toward the archway
or wonder what waits beyond.

Let the light find you
where you are.

Some paths become sacred
only when we stop rushing

As the clouds settle over the lowlands,
I am reminded of how gently
the Holy One moves through the world.

Not always in blazing sunlight,
but through quiet mist
that softens the edges of certainty.

Even the valleys disappear for a moment,
and still nothing sacred is lost.

Perhaps faith is not seeing farther,
but trusting that beyond every cloud,
the landscape remains
held, loved,
and waiting for the light to return. by @nbluxstudio

On a morning walk
in a city of ancient stones
and a stairway ahead,
my soul passes quietly
beneath an arch of shelter
toward whatever waits in the Light.

The stones still stand amongst countless prayers,
through footsteps of pilgrims,
through grief carried in silence
and gratitude whispered beneath the breath.
They remember what we easily forget …
holiness often reveals itself slowly,
layer by layer,
in places shaped by time.

That’s what I’m learning,
and have learned over time

Maybe Spirit meets us
within the ancient walls of our lives,
not beyond them,
always shining that what we have endured,
softening the hard edges,
yet always inviting us onward
toward steps we can’t always see.

That’s what I’ve been pondering lately.

No flower asks
how tomorrow will unfold.

It simply opens
to the light it has been given today.

Perhaps the soul was never meant
to cling to certainty,
but to loosen its grip
until its hands are free enough
to receive.

We hurry because we long for answers.
The Spirit whispers,
Come, walk with Me instead.

Slowly,
we discover that faith is not
knowing the next step.

It is trusting the One
who keeps calling us forward.

And perhaps the deepest bloom of all
is not becoming someone new,

but finally releasing the need to know,

so that we may live gently,
listen deeply,

and follow the quiet invitation
of the Spirit,

This is only a short portion of the opening ceremony of the Assisi 2026 Umbrian Antique Bench Crossbow Shooting Championship.

Keep in mind that this entire championship was carried out in 36 degree celsius (97 degree fahrenheit) weather as the heat dome of Europe has settled in.

God bless all the participants for their commitment to this tradition.
