Lifejackets available to borrow. ⁠⁠📍Canadian Museum of History Dock | Swim with one of the most iconic views of Parliament Hill, jump off the floating raft, or relax in a Muskoka chair. ⁠⁠📍East Wharf Dock | Take a dip steps away from Parliament Hill! Located just below Major’s Hill Park, this new dock features a 25m lap lane, multi-level shoreline seating, and an on-site vendor with ice cream, snacks, and more. ⁠⁠📍Dow’s Lake Dock | Cool off in the lake, relax on the dock, or get your laps in the 25m lap lane. This dock is just steps away from the animated patio at Dow’s Lake. ⁠⁠📍NCC River House Dock | An enclosed swimming area with two 25m lap lanes, a floating raft, plenty of dock space, seating, and a bistro with food and drink service located on the upper level. It was closed long ago, but it’s all coming back to me now. 👀✨ The Ottawa River Pathway behind Parliament Hill has officially reopened! After major rehabilitation and renewal work, this iconic pathway is once again open. It connects you to the Ottawa River shoreline, the East Wharf, and more than 200 km of Capital Pathways across Ottawa-Gatineau, Gatineau Park, and the Greenbelt. We’ve been working with federal partners to stabilize the escarpment behind the Supreme Court of Canada and remove the tunnel section of the pathway. This work helps protect public safety and strengthen climate resilience. Come take a walk and see what’s new. 🚶‍♀️🚲 #ottawa #ottbike #ottwalk #ottawathingstodo // C’était fermé depuis longtemps, mais tout me revient maintenant. 👀✨ Le sentier de la Rivière-des-Outaouais derrière la colline du Parlement est de nouveau ouvert! À la suite d’importants travaux de restauration et de remise en état, ce sentier emblématique est de nouveau ouvert. Il vous connecte aux berges de la rivière des Outaouais, au quai de l’Est, et à plus de 200 km de sentiers à Ottawa-Gatineau, dans le parc de la Gatineau et dans la Ceinture de verdure. Nous avons travaillé avec nos partenaires fédéraux pour stabiliser l’escarpement situé derrière la Cour suprême du Canada et retirer le tronçon en tunnel du sentier. Talk about a strong support system. 💪 The Lady Grey Wall Rehabilitation project is taking shape, with crews reaching some major milestones along the waterfront. Here’s what you need to know: Dow’s Lake, East Wharf and Canadian Museum of History recreational docks: Unsupervised swimming, deep water. NCC River House: ✅ Lifeguards on duty from July 1 to September 7 | Weekends and holidays, 11 am to 7 pm. Westboro Beach: ✅ Lifeguards on duty from June 20 to August 30 | Daily, noon to 7 pm Leamy Lake: ✅ Lifeguards on duty from June 12 to September 7 | Daily, 10 am to 7 pm Gatineau Park beaches: ✅ Lifeguards on duty from June 12 to September 7 | Daily, 10 am to 7 pm 📍 Meech Lake (O’Brien and Blanchet) 📍 Philippe Lake (Breton, Parent and Smith) 📍 La Pêche Lake ❗ Outside of lifeguard supervised hours, swimming is at your own risk. 🦺 Lifejackets are available to borrow during supervised beach hours in child, youth, and adult sizes at Westboro Beach, the NCC River House, Dow’s Lake, and East Wharf dock. 🌦️ After heavy rains, stormwater runoff can temporarily affect water quality.
