Slinger “The Mighty Sparrow” Francisco ORTT

A voice that defined a generation. A legacy that will always shine brightly. 🕊️🇹🇹

When we dedicated Dimanche Gras 2026 to the Mighty Sparrow, we had a chance to ask some of our friends in the Carnival community about their fondest Mighty Sparrow memories.

As we count down 119 days until Trinidad and Tobago Carnival 2027, 🇹🇹🎭 we look back and listen to those whose lives he touched through music and legend.

Rest in Power, The Mighty Sparrow. 🕊️ taken in Trinidad and Tobago by @ncc_tt

Behind every mask, there may be a story, a struggle, or a feeling that no one else can see.

This World Mental Health Day, let’s listen a little closer, check in a little more, and create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported.

Because people start to heal the moment they feel heard. 💚

Happy World Mental Health Day.

Building Stronger Teams. Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training continued for our staff on Thursday, October 8, 2026, in collaboration with the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government (MORD&LG). @rdlgtt

Today’s session focused on terrorism awareness and response in the event of a disaster or emergency. Participants gained critical knowledge and practical skills to help identify potential threats, respond effectively during emergencies, and contribute to keeping our workplace and wider community safe.

Building capacity. Strengthening preparedness. Empowering our staff.

Together, we continue to play our part in creating a safer Carnival experience and a more resilient working community. taken in Queen's Park Savannah by @ncc_tt

We joined with the Trinidad & Tobago Carnival Bands Association (TTCBA) who proudly hosted their Senior 2026 Awards and Reception, on Wednesday, October 7, in the NCC VIP Lounge, Grand Stand, Queen’s Park Savannah.

An evening dedicated to celebrating the achievements of Senior Kings, Queens, and Mas Bands who distinguished themselves for Carnival 2026, the ceremony gave the TTCBA a platform to provide updates to stakeholders on ongoing activities and innovations ahead of the 2027 Season.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all awardees and continue to salute and support the hard work, passion, and excellence of the TTCBA and our national Mas Community toward sustainable Carnival development in Trinidad and Tobago. by @ncc_tt
