Obligatory picture that he is cleared. He complied. Lol His knee specialist was very happy and the donor bone is almost completely healed into his bone. So very thankful to the donor and his family. He can now start to run, jump, and do everything. Still in PT for them to monitor his leg continues to get stronger. We don’t have to see the dr for 6 months unless there is an issue. The point I have to keep stressing to him, is you have to go back into everything slowly. Giving God lots of praise for the healing and letting our boy get back to everything he loves! by @nccjp4ofus

Well, this came out on Friday, but she hadn’t completed her official post yet, because the Lady Lions were busy winning a State Championship! Go Lions!!🧡🦁💙

Speechless is all I could say when I heard the news. What a huge blessing! Congratulations Caidence! Thank you to all her coaches & teammates who have helped her to become the player she is today! We love you so much Caidence and are so proud of you!

Senior Sunday; Happy Easter! He has Risen! Wow what an emotional last today. I think I cried almost all of the church service today thinking how blessed we are, but that Caidence won’t be there with us Easter Sunday next year. It’s a big last for at least 4 yrs for us. Very emotional day. Next year I’ll mail her Easter Basket. 😢 Just has came so fast. Jasper felt sorry for me and said “mom we can go to where Caidence is next year.” Thanking God for her and that she will continue her relationship with him, even when we aren’t there. ❤️❤️ by @nccjp4ofus

As many of you know, Jasper battled a condition called osteochondritis dissecans in the 6th grade. It took him out of sports for a year. He had 2 surgeries on his right knee. He battled back in all his sports and was successful, although it took years, and he still wasn’t like he was before. In June, we thought all was well, and he was released from his specialist at Children’s. By September, we were back at the specialists office. Jasper loves football with all his heart, so after a game, close to the end of the year, he told us he couldn’t take the pain anymore. I had noticed he would limp, and he would tell me it’s ok mom, it just needs to warm up. We knew if he’s coming out of football, it has to be really bad. His pain tolerance is very high. He had an MRI on his right knee in October. It was ugly and not what we wanted to hear at all. J, and us too, were devastated. The same right knee is much worse than before, and rest will not help. Jasper will be having knee surgery at Barnes on 12-18. He received a match from a nationwide donor registry. He will be receiving, from a donor/young man who passed away, a portion of the young man’s femur and cartilage. Pray for J and us, but really pray for that 23 yr old young man’s family. That means the young man’s family will be spending their first Christmas without their son. I can’t imagine. It’s been a lot for us to process. You never really think about it, until it’s your loved one receiving a donor’s gift. We are grateful, but so very sad for the parents of the donor.
