What’s the role of human creativity beyond the economy?

Beyond our need for approval or money.

In the future, a creator mindset may have deeper implications than it just being “fun” or “cool”.

Especially when tech enables addictive consumption just as much as it does creation.

This is about cultivating a new relationship with our creativity ��So that we can do this one thing technology can not do for us

The more technology brings our imagination into reality, the more of a highlight I see on what we want, and its clarity.

But our relationship to wanting is complicated.

It can be the nudge toward magic.

But, many people are used to being told what to want or borrow theirs from others.

Also, not everything we want is good for ourselves. Often our short vs. long term wants are in conflict.

And sometimes when we get what we want we no longer want it. 😅

Whether tech also shapes our wants or escapes them & develops its own, the point of intervention is still us.

By having the clarity to know what to want as we feed our dreams into manifesting machines.

A pioneer @bob__thurman who has a big impact on my path and on the convergence of civilization wisdoms leaving this form deeply saddens me.

It also leaves me with questions about impermanence and the precious opportunity we all have as human beings during this brief life time, about what we do with it. I assume as he would suggest…

I’d be remiss in my sadness to not mention my joy and gratitude for having crossed paths with him in this cosmic interplay.

Speaker announcement 📣 Evran Naz Shuva is a 2x founder, internationally toured artist, and speaker who has lectured at Columbia University and many other institutions, blending insights from creativity, technology and mindfulness practice.

He founded Origin Coliving, Mindstream Wellness, and the band PUi in New York City, cross-disciplinary experiences that informed his perspective on the common patterns underlying the creative process.

A mindfulness practitioner for over 10 years across retreats in India, Thailand and a neuroscience-informed study in NYC with renowned teachers.

He’s currently a startup advisor while developing his own new venture.

His TEDx talk will be a unique hybrid of artistic performance and future-forward conversation about the power of play in creative adaptation.

On initiating human creativity in the age of AI at the @menta_series for NY Tech Week.

I would’ve liked to talk more about accountability. AI does not suffer the consequences of its actions- legally, emotionally or socially.

Decisions are not just about intellectual clarity. Even if AI gives you the “best plan”, it’s on you to face the consequences and that’s largely an emotional feat that no one else can do for you.

So, knowing your limits, courage and wisdom are as relevant as ever.

w @khyentse in India when I journeyed far to see him last year.

🪷Why? Teachers are the embodied carriers of iterated knowledge across time.

We pick-up from their way of being not just intellectual knowledge.

& I yearn for bridging via osmosis our ancestors with our descendants in the new age.

Inspired by how he’s confident outside of the mold many would expect from someone in his position.

While an esteemed lineage teacher of ancient Buddhist teachings

Also a creator, an avant-garde filmmaker.

You can imagine how much that speaks to me.

And has a bold way of expression, controversial for many.

An inspiration for what Carl Jung calls “individuation” & has nudged me to share my voice in my own way.

In 2025, I was fortunate to share 5+ talks, work with 15+ startups, and create multiple works for my project across 7+ cities around the world from NYC, CDMX, Istanbul, DC, Florence to more.

It was a year of growth for me.

But the depth was about the people I connected with. From the organizers who invited me to speak, the thoughtful audiences, to the founders whose agency inspires me.

And the commitment of friends and family who sometimes fly across the planet to be in each others presence.

You all reminded me how precious human connection is, especially at this moment, with technology accelerating everything around us.

Here’s to more human connection for all of us in 2026 ❤️ by @ncshuva
