There were a lot of money principles that I learned growing up just like a lot of you have yourselves - and I needed to unlearn them so that I could open my mind up to what was true. Swipe along and learn! by @ndamukongsuh
15 years ago, I heard my name called on draft night — a moment I’ll never forget. The lights, the anticipation, the tears in my family’s eyes, the pride in my heart — it was a dream realized. Tonight, it’s your turn. To the young men being drafted: congratulations. This is a night that marks the beginning of something special. You’ve worked your entire life for this opportunity. You’ve sacrificed. You’ve trained. You’ve believed. And now, your name will forever be a part of this league’s story. But I’ll tell you this — this moment is not the finish line. It’s the starting block. You haven’t made it — you’ve earned the right to start. The NFL will challenge you in every way: physically, mentally, emotionally. The ones who succeed are the ones who stay hungry, stay humble, and never stop working. Your talent got you here. Your discipline and decisions will determine how long you stay. Let me give you a few pieces of advice I wish every rookie could hear: Be smart with your money. This is new territory — and it’s tempting to spend fast and live big. Don’t. Be intentional. Learn. Ask questions. Invest wisely. Remember, it’s not about how much you make — it’s about how much you keep, how you grow it, and what legacy you build with it. Surround yourself with excellence. Get a team — not just on the field, but off it. Financial experts. Mentors. Lawyers. Veteran players you can learn from. People who will challenge you, protect you, and tell you the truth even when it’s hard. You only get one shot at your rookie year. One shot to set the tone for your career. So stay focused. Handle your business. And understand that greatness is built day by day — in silence, in the gym, in the film room, in how you treat others and how you carry yourself. Enjoy tonight. Celebrate it. You’ve earned that. But when you wake up tomorrow, it’s time to go to work. See you at the top. — Ndamukong Suh by @ndamukongsuh

People who never watched Michael Jordan play still wear his shoes. Larry Miller, chairman of Jordan Brand, explained how the brand grew beyond basketball. The product mattered, but so did what people felt when they wore it. His starting point for anyone building a brand: know exactly who your customer is. What’s a brand you’ve stayed with for years, and what has kept you coming back? by @ndamukongsuh

A kid can get a lot out of sports without a scholarship or a professional career at the end of it. Learning to lose, improve, and be a good teammate matters. So does having room to enjoy the game without every practice becoming a judgment on their future. What would you change about the way adults approach youth sports? by @ndamukongsuh
Marshawn heard rookies measuring wealth in Yeezys while he was buying buildings. Everybody has different goals. Comparing what you own misses the chance to learn from each other and build together. Who has helped you think differently about money? by @ndamukongsuh
Most recommendations happen when you are not there to make your own case. Someone asks about you, and the answer comes from how you handled deadlines, credit, mistakes, and disagreement long before that conversation. What is one small habit that has made you trust someone more over time? by @ndamukongsuh
Gronk was pissed Bodyarmor gave him stock instead of cash. Ten years later, a big check showed up. Now he’s investing in the Bodyarmor founder’s next company. One of the biggest things I look at before I invest is who’s running the company. by @ndamukongsuh
You can be proud of your progress without making it public. Buying your first home, paying off debt, or reaching a savings goal can mean years of work that nobody else sees. You don’t owe anyone an announcement. What’s a milestone that meant more to you than anyone around you realized? by @ndamukongsuh

Most people want to be liked. Fewer are willing to make a decision that might disappoint the people around them. That’s part of choosing your own circle, building a different life, or betting on yourself. You may have to give up some approval before you know whether the decision will work out. What’s a choice you’re glad you made, even though other people didn’t understand it? by @ndamukongsuh
