POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
There’s a version of me who prayed for this life.

Who worked hard to build it.
Who poured years into the craft, the clients, the career, the identity.

And then one day…I realized it didn’t fit anymore.

Not because I failed.
Not because I wasn’t grateful.
But because I had changed.

And sometimes that’s the hardest part of becoming—admitting that something can be good, something can be successful, something can be a life you intentionally built…and still no longer be aligned with who you’re becoming.

Cleaning out my salon wasn’t just about clearing out a space.

I was closing a chapter.
Releasing an identity.
And making room for a version of myself I hadn’t fully met yet.

I didn’t have the entire plan.

I just knew I couldn’t keep choosing what was familiar simply because I didn’t know what came next.

Maybe you’re there now.

You know something needs to shift, but you’re not quite sure what.
You’ve outgrown parts of your life, but you don’t know where to start.
You can feel the pull toward something different—you just need space to hear yourself clearly.

✨ Start with The Becoming Alignment Check.

It’s a simple reflection designed to help you see where you are, what may be out of alignment, and what might be asking for your attention next.

You don’t have to know exactly where you’re going.

Sometimes becoming starts with being honest about what no longer fits.

I’m not sharing these principles because I have it all figured out. I’m sharing them because I’m living them. 🌱

I’m showing up in this season as the most authentic version of myself I know how to be—and continuing to become her in real time.

This transition hasn’t always been easy. There have been moments of uncertainty, surrender, letting go, starting over, and asking God, “Okay…what now?” But the more I understand the why, the more I realize how worth it this becoming has been.

For me, becoming my best self isn’t about perfection.

It’s about becoming aligned with the life God intended for me to live.

And I’m learning that elevation requires surrender. Sometimes becoming asks you to release the very things, identities, relationships, expectations, and versions of yourself that once made you feel safe.

I’m so proud of myself for choosing me.
For choosing God’s invitation to something more.
For choosing to live while I’m alive.

Because this life is way too precious to spend it waiting for permission to fully live it.

And maybe that’s one of the biggest things I’ve learned:

Your best self may be directly attached to your “YES.” ✨

Yes to the change.
Yes to the unknown.
Yes to honoring what you know deep down.
Yes to the life that keeps calling you forward.

That’s why I created The Becoming Alignment Check and Rooted Not Rushed. Not from a place of having arrived, but from a place of walking this journey alongside you and sharing the principles I continue to apply myself.

If you’ve been feeling the pull toward something different, maybe it’s time to check in with yourself.

WHO ARE YOU… without all the titles you’ve accumulated?! 🤔

Who are you when you strip away the roles, expectations, accomplishments, and identities you’ve spent your life building?

I’ve dedicated my life to discovering that truth. And the deeper I go, the more I uncover parts of myself I didn’t even know existed. Along the way, I’m healing the parts of me that once believed I wasn’t worthy of God’s very best.

I’m learning that becoming isn’t about creating someone new. It’s about remembering who I was before the world told me who I needed to be.

And the more I discover who I truly am, the more I realize…

Why would I EVER settle for less than what God has already declared I’m worthy of?! 😌✨

This is the art of becoming. 🦋

The Cost of Staying

“I didn’t leave because I had nothing to lose. I left because I finally understood what it was costing me to stay.”

Sometimes, what feels like peace is only the absence of disruption.

The familiar is comfortable because it doesn’t ask us to question our conditioning, relationships, identities, or inherited roles.

But eventually, we have to ask:

Who am I when I’m no longer performing?

Who am I without the titles, expectations, or validation?

What parts of myself have I abandoned to belong?

For me, answering those questions meant leaving behind a life I knew and entering one I couldn’t predict.

There was grief in leaving, but also relief—as if some part of me could finally breathe.

I didn’t leave to find myself in another country. I left to hear myself without the noise of who I was expected to be.

And I found pieces of myself I had nearly forgotten: curiosity, courage, tenderness, and a voice that grew clearer whenever I chose honesty over approval.

Becoming isn’t always about adding more. Sometimes it’s about releasing what was never ours to carry.

Sometimes courage means leaving. Sometimes it means staying with boundaries, resting, asking for help, beginning again, or telling yourself the truth.

It’s not about choosing what’s harder. It’s about choosing what’s true.

Because eventually, the cost of remaining who you’ve been becomes greater than the uncertainty of discovering who you could be.

I chose the deeper road because I wanted to live.

THE SAVIOR. THE VICTIM. THE VILLAIN. 🪞✨

What if I told you that at some point in your life, you’ve probably played all three roles? 👀

As I continue my healing initiation training, I’ve been exploring the psychology behind the Drama Triangle and how these patterns can unconsciously influence our relationships, decisions, and spiritual growth.

The Savior feels responsible for saving everyone, often neglecting themselves in the process.

The Victim feels powerless, believing life is happening to them rather than recognizing where they still have choices.

The Villain operates through blame, judgment, or control, sometimes as a way of protecting themselves from vulnerability.

Here’s what stood out to me…

These are roles we play, not who we ARE. 💯

And the beautiful thing about awareness is that once we recognize a pattern, we have an opportunity to change it.

We can learn to support without rescuing, take ownership without blaming ourselves, and establish boundaries without becoming the enemy.

Healing isn’t always about discovering something new. Sometimes it’s about recognizing what we’ve been unconsciously repeating.

Self-awareness is where transformation begins. 🌱

Now let’s have an honest conversation…

👇🏾 Which role(s) have YOU played? The Savior, the Victim, the Villain…or all THREE? 👀

No judgment here. Just awareness, accountability, and becoming. 🫶🏾 taken in Bangkok, Thailand by @ndustrybyndia

I don’t care what the circumstances may look like. Imma choose GOD over EVERYTHING! 💯

Whatever is happening in this world, God already knows.

DON’T GET DISTRACTED.

What are YOU supposed to be doing? What has God placed on YOUR heart? What are you passionate about? What gifts have you been sitting on, waiting for the “right time” to use? 🤔

The world doesn’t have to be perfect for you to walk in your purpose.

Stop waiting for permission. Stop shrinking yourself. Stop allowing fear and uncertainty to dictate your next move.

It’s time to activate your powers! ✨

You were created to do more than simply survive what’s happening around you.

YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO CONTRIBUTE.

Now what are you going to do with it? 💫 taken in Bangkok, Thailand by @ndustrybyndia

I’ve been learning that becoming isn’t always about adding more to our lives.

Sometimes it’s about releasing everything that keeps us disconnected from ourselves.

The expectations. The conditioning. The fear. The need to have it all figured out.

And while the process can be uncomfortable, there’s something beautiful about realizing that you have the freedom to choose differently.

I’m not sharing this from the other side of becoming. I’m sharing it from the middle.

Still learning. Still releasing. Still trusting. Still becoming. 🌱

If you’re somewhere in the middle too, I hope this reminds you that you’re not behind. Your journey is still unfolding.

My understanding of birth was too small.

I thought I was being called to help people give birth.

And I was.

I just assumed the birth would always be a baby.

Now I understand that we give birth many times throughout our lives.

We birth new identities.
New dreams.
New boundaries.
New expressions of ourselves.
New relationships with God.
New lives after the ones we thought we’d live no longer fit.

And sometimes, before the birth, there’s an ending.

A version of us has to be released.
A career has to be surrendered.
A relationship has to end.
A belief has to be challenged.
The familiar has to become unfamiliar.

Then comes the in-between.

The labor.

The becoming.

Maybe my calling didn’t change at all.

Maybe my understanding of birth simply had to become big enough to hold it.

I purposely waited to read this.

I told myself I would save it for a day when I needed a little motivation to keep going—and I’m so glad I did. 😭🥹

To my students: you brought out the very best in me.

Thank you for loving me, trusting me, challenging me, and allowing me to pour into you from a place of pure love and passion for this craft.

Teaching was never just about hair for me. It was about people. It was about confidence. Connection. Creativity. Watching someone discover what they were capable of and reminding them not to give up on themselves.

And now that God has given me the vision for @hairintranslation, I realize I’m not leaving that part of myself behind at all.

This is my way of staying connected to the craft that changed my life—while exploring how hair, education, culture, creativity and community connect across the world. 🌍✂️

And somehow, it feels like everything I’ve done has been preparing me for this.

I love y’all and miss y’all so much. 🥹🤍

Former students, check in with me in the comments! Where are you now? What are you doing? How has your journey been since school? I genuinely want to know. 🫶🏾

And if ANYBODY has pictures or videos from my last day, pleaseeeee send them to me! 🥹😭🫶🏾 I would love to have those memories.

Your Learning Leader is still rooting for you from across the world. 🌍🤍
