12 days until Junior Season is supposed to start, BUT God….He had other plans in mind, and I am learning that even when it doesn’t always seem like it or feel like it, His plan is far greater than mine. In the waiting, I have learned a lot about the game and myself from a different perspective. 1. Patience is harder than my mama makes it look. 2. In this life we are not promised tomorrow, much less is it promised to be a life of ease. 3. God’s love, grace, mercy, and understanding is sufficient, and I can rest in knowing He’s got me. 4. My identity is in Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior alone. 5. He gave me a passion for this game, and everyday I get to step on the field is a blessing from above!! 6. Even when I feel defeated, I can find victory in knowing the One who has ordered my steps loves me and died for me on the cross!! I know God will continue to grow me and show me things that maybe I couldn’t see without taking a step back!! With that being said, I can’t wait to be exactly what my girls need me to be this year!! A water/snack girl, a counselor, an encourager, a “move your feet” kind of teammate, I’m here for it all, and I can’t wait to see these girls show out this season!!! God is so Good!! Sophomore year took an unexpected turn, but God is still so good! While I didn’t have the sophomore year I wanted or hoped for, God’s plan and His timing are far greater than mine could ever be!! Feelings of discouragement and frustration were so real, but the people that God put in my life—friends, family, church family, teammates, and loving coaches—were right there to pick me up. I was reminded this season that every single time I get to put on that jersey or get to step on that field, it is a blessing and an opportunity to glorify my God, not to be taken for granted!! My identity is in Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, and my passion for this game is a gift from Him!! God knows exactly what we need, when we need it, every single time–even if that means a season-ending surgery!!! What a weekend!! I got the opportunity to be a host for some future Golden Eagles, and we had a blast!! Great conversations took place; new relationships were formed, and above all, Christ was at the center!!
