DS World UK 2026… what a weekend! 🦷🔥🥂

Such a privilege to be part of the Endo Speed Dating Clinic and share the stage with a seriously impressive endodontic line-up.

So much great endo, brilliant conversations and learning from some of the very best — including Ghassan Yared, the man behind the game-changing Reciproc Minima 🙌🏽, the incredible Francesco Mannocci, and of course all the usual endo suspects who make these events what they are! 🦷❤️

Huge thank you to @dentsplysirona.uk @dentsplysirona.endodontics @kristian_stuart_dentsplysirona @gio.in.dentistry @jonpaulhawkins for having me, for bringing together such an amazing group of speakers and clinicians… and for throwing one hell of a party afterwards. 💃🏽🔥🥂

Six women. Four institutions. Two continents. One paper. 🦷

I’m especially proud that this was an all-female research team, spanning NYU College of Dentistry, NYU Grossman School of Medicine, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, The Minerva Collective and King’s College London. Women make up the majority of new dental graduates, yet remain under-represented as authors and leaders in our specialty journals. This paper is a small piece of evidence that when women lead, across institutions and across an ocean, the science is stronger for it.

Thank you to my brilliant co-authors Lucia Wang, Eleanor Fleming, Cristina Gonzalez, Morgan Celistan and Lorel E. Burns. ❤️💙💚💛💜

🎓 PhD. Officially.

Yesterday was more than a graduation.

It was celebrating with the little boy who sat through every chapter with me. I defended my PhD whilst heavily pregnant, and just 10 days later Ari arrived. He was there through the final edits, the sleepless nights, and the determination to finish when life was at its hardest.

I wrote this thesis during the most challenging chapter of my life. There were many moments I wasn’t sure I’d make it to the end. But somehow, I did.

One lesson has stayed with me throughout, and it’s one my parents taught me from a young age:

“You can lose everything, but no one can ever take away your knowledge.”

That belief carried me through. Education is something no one can take from you, and the pursuit of learning never truly ends.

To my amazing parents—thank you. Every opportunity I’ve had, every milestone I’ve reached, is built on the values you instilled in me. This degree is as much yours as it is mine. ❤️

One of the highlights of the day was watching my own students cross the stage alongside me. Seeing them celebrate their achievements made the day even more meaningful. I’m so proud of you all—congratulations @radhi.rp @sushendodontics @angelmakrys @dimitris_sourtzis @ashrafamin4 @emilyalicejennings @annapnrt. Here’s to the next chapter.

This has got to be one of the best gifts I’ve received 🥹💙

It’s not often I’m lost for words, but this one genuinely made me smile.

Teaching is one of the parts of my job I love most, and knowing that something you’ve said or done has made a difference to a student means more than you probably realise.

Thank you @radhi.rp for such a thoughtful gift ✨

Here’s to joining the Thursday teaching crew 😎 (obviously the best crew 😜) and to many more endo discussions, questions, coffee-fuelled clinics and laughs along the way 🦷☕️

Team bonding, endo chats, far too much food, and a reminder of what a brilliant community this really is 🦷✨

A huge thank you to @dentsplysirona.uk — especially @kristian_stuart_dentsplysirona Kristian and @jonpaulhawkins Jon Paul — for such a fantastic evening bringing the team together. Great company, lots of laughs, and a little reminder that the best ideas often happen outside the lecture hall 🍸🙌🏽

And now… bring on PEERS Birmingham! 🚀

I’ll be part of the Endodontic programme and honestly, the line-up looks epic 👀 From irrigation and CBCT to clinical decision-making and everything in between — plus a huge amount of CPD (yes please 🙌🏽).

📍 PEERS / Dentsply Sirona World UK 2026 – Birmingham
🗓️ Friday 2nd & Saturday 3rd October

Feeling incredibly grateful to have our work recognised as a Top Viewed Article in the International Endodontic Journal 🦷✨

Research takes time, setbacks, persistence, and a lot of teamwork — which makes moments like this even more meaningful.

Huge thank you to everyone who supported this work, collaborated, challenged ideas, and believed in the importance of asking difficult clinical questions.

It’s amazing to see so much interest in our study exploring the short-term postoperative pain and quality of life following pulpotomy vs root canal treatment in teeth with symptoms of irreversible pulpitis.

Here’s to continuing conversations, questioning dogma, and pushing evidence-based dentistry forward 💫

Still buzzing from an incredible weekend with the British Endodontic Society ✨

There was a quote mentioned that’s stayed with me ever since:
“If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” — Isaac Newton

And honestly… it couldn’t feel more true.

So much of this journey is built on the people who’ve guided me, challenged me, supported me, and believed in me — my giants 💙

Grateful for every opportunity, every conversation, and every person who’s helped shape this path.
We don’t get here alone… and we don’t stop here either 💫

Still taking this all in…

Honoured to have spoken at the British Endodontic Society @britishendodonticsociety and to share the stage with the incredible Elisabetta Cotti @cottielisabetta ✨

A huge thank you to Phil Mitchell @wild_mushrooms for the invitation — and for the continued support, it truly means a lot 🙏🏽

But more than anything… thank you to everyone who came to support me 💙
And to those who came up to me afterwards to say the lecture impacted them — that it made them think, reflect, question…

That’s why this work matters.
That’s why we keep having these conversations.
Because if it changes even one perspective, it makes it all worthwhile ✨

So grateful. So proud. And we keep going 💫💪🏽

Dr Neha Patel will be presenting two sessions at our Spring Scientific Meeting this Saturday!

She'll be discussing the various non-biological factors that might impact different endodontic treatment decisions, and the ways in which increased awareness can address these disparities in the practice.

Time's running out, book now! (link in bio)
