Dr. Elizabeth Fried told Kyra that many of the special operators she works with would rather go back into a firefight in Afghanistan than walk into a civilian room and introduce themselves. Their program requires 50 cups of coffee with people they do not know.⁠

So she gave them a protocol in the language they already spoke. Mission. Target. Reconnaissance. It worked, and it became a book.⁠

I recently had the pleasure of joining Dave Erickson and Botond for a podcast conversation about my book, Strategic Networking: A Practical Playbook.

What impressed me most was how intentionally they framed the discussion. Their questions were well researched, thoughtfully sequenced, and designed to draw out ideas rather than simply collect answers. As a result, we were able to explore not only practical networking strategies, but also the deeper concept of building authentic Relationship Capital—the foundation of long-term professional success.

It was one of enjoyable and substantive podcasts I've had. by @glowupgyrl

Just upgraded Lawrence Indiviglia office area upstairs with new rugs from @rugs.com. It was reasonably priced, fit perfectly,and the colors brightened up the room and the entry area. by @glowupgyrl

A funny thing to share. As many of you know.. I have been traveling and on a cruise. Today as I was standing at the breakfast buffet, apparently one of my pant legs had hiked half way up my calf. I was wearing knee length fun compression socks which were apparently showing. One of the servers tapped me on the shoulder and pointed to my leg and and said, "Ms...excuse me, is that a fashion statement or just an accident." I looked down, smiled and said, "An accident" to which he knelt down and pulled my pant cuff down to my ankle! Now was that the height of diplomacy or what? by @glowupgyrl

Today we docked in Tangiers. A fascinating city with lots of hills and narrow streets and old world markets. Check out the spices! It is in North Africa, yet only 8 miles from Spain and very close to Gibralter. The Banyan tree you see is 800 years old. We went on a four tour and ended it having mint tea before returning to the ship for lunch. I scheduled myself for another massage to address my poor back from those hills. Will rest the remainder of the day. by @glowupgyrl
