Last Thursday, we held our annual lecture with Tom Brown. With so many incredible horticulturists gathered at our HQ, we took the opportunity to ask them a simple question: What do you love about gardening? 🌱

We heard a wonderful range of answers, yet, there was one thing that connected them all: joy.

The joy of growing, of nurturing, of watching something flourish - and the simple pleasure that comes from spending time in a garden.

Last night, we hosted our Alitex Annual Lecture, this year with Tom Brown, Head Gardener at @westdeangardens.

Tom shared a fascinating insight into his life and work as a Head Gardener, giving us a glimpse into the daily rhythm, knowledge and passion behind his role.

Our guests enjoyed welcome drinks and nibbles (ingredients grown at West Dean!), alongside a wonderful selection of live music @hannah_dorman, before settling in for Tom’s talk.

It was an evening filled with curiosity, conversation and inspiration, and a wonderful celebration of gardening, growing and, of course, glasshouses 🌱

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success. See you next year.

Greenhouses, charity, and a cappella… we were proud to sponsor ‘A Summer’s Evening at @thelaundrygarden’ in support of @maggiescentres, bringing together horticulture, community, and the @harvardkrokodiloes 🎵🌱

With Jenny Williams’ @alitex_ Lean-To greenhouse as part of the setting, the evening brought some very different worlds together - with the @harvardkrokodiloes making the journey from Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Wales.
