POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Part 2 of 2
A few years back, Nelson’s tag caught his attention and while jumping into the pool his retriever instincts kicked in, and he grabbed his tag, and brought himself to me. And then he did it again and again, and the self-retrieving dog was born.

It was his way of playing by himself.

I typed 10/6 in my photo app and this video from 2019 came up. A year prior to this Nelson discovered his collar, and that if he got a hold of it and ran over to me it was the equivalent of retrieving. So this year I bought him a larger collar to make it easier to grab. He “retrieved himself” over and over again. All day.

Some of the best days were spent in that pool in AZ. I miss us so much!

I love this video of the boys from 6years ago today.
They were brothers, came from the same parents, had the same schedule, ate the same things, did the same things, yet so different.
Wallace is trying so hard to go under water, but couldn’t figure it out. Then comes Nelson, and is a pro.
I miss them so much.

During this trip to Mammoth Mountain in Sept of 2017 came one of my favorite pictures of N & W that I also used as a holiday card that year. This image captured their joy for life and thought they were both smiling because they were having the best day ever.

@wilsonthelabragoat and @labsnlyrics turned that wonderful moment into a 3D photo crystal. I can’t thank Carrie and Claire enough for such a thoughtful and beautiful gift. Thank you! This memory will sit where we watch tv. It will be a daily reminder that they are smiling at us. ❤️ 🥹

Wallace.
Spokesperson and the official voice for N | W.
His primary role was to communicate boredom and hunger.

Good thing he was so cute, because listening was optional for Wallace.

I hope he’s a better listener wherever he is today.

Backstory: we stopped playing with balls in the pool area to avoid them from injury- running too fast, slipping, raw paws. But Wallace knew where they were kept and insisted we give him one.

N & W in heaven: looking down on us, disappointed that we’re not sharing whatever we’re eating.

The story behind this pic…they were upset I wasn’t hanging out with them at the pool. So same. 🥹
