Apparently “How does it feel to be home?” is a harder question than I thought. 😂

I’m grateful. I’m tired. I miss the road. I missed home.

And I’m learning that transition doesn’t always give you one clean emotion.

Sometimes you can be thankful for where you are and still miss where you were.

You can be ready for what’s next and still need a minute to process what just ended.

I think part of growth is learning not to rush yourself through that in between space.

Somewhere in all of that, I’m figuring out who came back.

The hard part is sticking with what you heard when the people you love question it.

Their fear can sound like wisdom. Their confidence can make you doubt yourself.

Listen. Pray. Check yourself.

But don’t hand them a decision they’ll never have to answer for.

You’re responsible for what you do with what God gave you. by @nelsonjacksoniii

I don’t always feel like getting out of bed, so I repeat what I know works.

Water. Coffee. Sunlight. Movement.

Once I’m outside, something changes. My mind opens. Ideas come. I feel creative again.

The motivation didn’t get me moving.

The movement brought the motivation back. by @nelsonjacksoniii

Comparison can make real progress feel insignificant.

Don’t let someone else’s pace make you disrespect your own. by @nelsonjacksoniii

What feels unnecessary now may be what makes you necessary in the rooms you’re headed to.

Growing up in LA, @jasonwhiteco was one of the musicians I looked up to. When I got to work under him at church, I thought he was doing too much. Long rehearsals. Constant repetition.

I didn’t know repetition was the revelation of progress.

Seeing him in London five years later reminded me how much it prepared me.

Thank you for pushing me. I’m better because you didn’t chill. Love you, big bro. by @nelsonjacksoniii

Let me say this with food in my mouth so it doesn’t hurt as much…

Some of you keep asking God to calm the storm while handing out unlimited boarding passes.

Not every hard season is someone else’s fault. But if your peace, focus, and direction keep disappearing whenever certain people get close, you may want to stop calling it a coincidence.

Everyone on the boat affects the journey.

You don’t have to make anyone the villain. Just stop acting like access doesn’t have consequences. by @nelsonjacksoniii

And before someone reaches for Isaiah 40:31…

“They that wait upon the Lord…”

The Hebrew word qāvâ means to hope in, expect, and trust God. It does not mean inactivity.

Notice what happens next:

They mount up.
They run.
They walk.

There are times God tells us to wait. But waiting on God and being afraid to move are not the same thing.

P.S. Don’t call it “waiting on God” when He’s already given you something to do. by @nelsonjacksoniii

There’s nothing wrong with asking for advice.

The problem is giving every opinion equal weight.

Some people are speaking from wisdom. Others are speaking from fear, personal preference, or what they would do with a life they don’t have to live.

Listen. Consider. But be selective about whose voice gets access to your decisions.

You may not need another opinion.

You may need enough quiet to hear what you already know. by @nelsonjacksoniii

Develop your gift, but don’t neglect the character, discipline, and honesty required to carry it well. by @nelsonjacksoniii

Not being accepted in certain rooms can make you question your value, your ability, and whether you belong anywhere.

I’ve been there.

Now I’m thankful for the rooms I didn’t fit in. No one had to be better or worse. The fit was simply wrong.

Today, I operate in rooms where who I am and what I bring make sense.

Don’t change who you are to fit somewhere that requires you to become less of yourself. by @nelsonjacksoniii

How do we say we trust God while constantly second-guessing what He placed inside us?

How do we believe He has a plan while sabotaging the life in front of us?

How do we believe we were created with purpose while treating our lives as though they have no meaning?

How do we trust His timing while grieving as if it’s already too late?

How do we ask Him to order our steps while refusing to move?

At some point, trusting God has to mean trusting His plan, His purpose, His timing, and the person He created you to be.

You cannot keep asking God to lead you while talking yourself out of every step. by @nelsonjacksoniii

Stop expecting people to know what you refuse to say.

If you’re struggling, tell them.
If you need support, ask for it.
If something isn’t working, be honest about it.

You can’t keep acting like you’re okay and then resent people for believing you.

Telling the truth gives people the opportunity to show up for you. And if they can’t—or won’t—you need to know that too.

Either you get the support you need, or you get the clarity you need.

But both require honesty. by @nelsonjacksoniii
