Take away one sense and the others get way louder.

It’s an old principle of perception: disturb what the body reads as normal, and attention snaps to whatever’s been changed.

Cover the eyes and the brain, suddenly missing its main source of information, turns the volume up on everything else, especially sound, and starts hunting for it in the dark.

Now move the sound. Around the head, overhead, passing close and drifting away. The brain locks on completely. It has nothing else to hold, so it follows, and in following sound it cannot see, attention stops pointing outward at the world and turns all the way in.

That’s the moment the bodies start to listen. The nervous system settles, the searching stops, and sound has somewhere to land.

Fertile soil for insight, and renewed perspective.

San Francisco.

The room buzzing with builders and creatives, strangers and friends. All of them transported into a different realm - that none of them saw coming.

Thank you for the invitation @longjourneyventures & @zmwang

Props to @neptune.audio for the crisp sound, Lupine and @capitolartsf for the beautiful space and @jeroen_desmet for capturing the magic.

We’ll be back.

Last weekend, we floated through the void on sound and light.

@parameter_sf's "Stratus in the Void" stage brought together a talented circle of musicians and artists to create an experience that defies simple explanation.

A 350 sqft Crescendo Bass Floor paired with a @neptune.audio sound system brought the physical experience of music to the forefront, with sound you could feel move through the room

We're already looking forward to what's next with this incredible community. Thank you @___stratus_ , @the_v_0_i_d, and @_dustcollective for bringing this room to life!

SANCTUM - 10ft tall columnar acoustic bliss.

The low end is produced by dual 15" high excursion subwoofers, tuned to 36Hz. It'll terraform you.

The top of the sound pillar is 3-way design with a Super Tweeter, which extends the frequency response to 35kHz, so you can hear the Angels sing. by @neptune.audio

Sonic perfection from a 10” coaxial loudspeaker is possible. Introducing the Wizard’s Eye. This design a keeper for sure. It’s compact and light, sounds amazing and looks hypnotizing. The active version features Pascal modules and a touch screen in the back for controls 😯

Happy Winter Solstice from Neptune Audio. We’re wishing you a restful, longest night of the year.

This year we’ve been striving for balance in family and business. How much can we integrate the two? While it’s no small feat to bring big sound systems and a little toddler to festivals and events, it has been worth it every time. Cosmo loves being a part of what we do and he is already fascinated by sound and speakers. Our definition of success is one by which we accomplish balance.

Here’s to a successful 2024! We’re excited to share some of the new projects we’ve been working on with you! by @neptune.audio

New Fullrange Tops ⚡️

These have been a labor of love for our burning man camp, KISS. We’ve been working tirelessly on them for the past several weeks. These are our first top speakers that are too big for stands so we added rigging points. Despite their size (4ft tall!) they’re comparably light at 110lbs. We added sacred geometry inspired by quadrophonic speaker placement, like you’ll get to experience on the dance floor and the dynamic shapes that ripple out. With their color they blend right into the dessert. But we also added a tiny pop of our iconic blue inside. The drivers are the best B&C has to offer.

Come check out the system at KISS if you find yourself at the burn - 4:45 & Encantado 🔥 by @neptune.audio

Introducing the BSBm -

When our dear friend approached us wanting club sound in a portable package that would fit in his van, we couldn’t help ourselves. Most portable systems don’t have the spectral width - low enough in the base range and clarity in the highs.

We used the latest audio driver technology to achieve incredibly low sub bass and SPL for that size. The tops have sparkly clarity in the high frequencies thanks to a new generation of compression drivers. Very handy for pumping renegade parties!

Neptune's founder Albrecht Köhler wears a lot of hats, from extensive researcher to building and schlepping speakers. One of his favorites hats is DJing on his system.

Realizing that many sound systems miss the mark, he built his own so his friends could hear what his favorite tracks are supposed to sound like. And even more so to offer his friends the opportunity to play on a state-of-the-art system.

Our woodshop isn’t just for hand crafting loudspeakers. We also design & build dj booths and custom elements to achieve an overall aesthetic for transformational events.

This 8ft wide dj facade was crafted for a 1920’s Berlin themed event. It’ mostly made of reclaimed old growth redwood. It features 1200 programmable RGBW (warm white!) NeoPixel LEDs with black diffusion acrylic for high contrast and juiciness of colors. It can easily be programmed by anyone to display motion patterns you come up with and is even sound reactive. It also folds up like a flat church Tryptic that doesn’t take up a lot of space. It now has a good home and we’re excited to get creative with the next piece. Hit us up if you want one.
