I’m in @worldmarket! You can find me and three of my ornament designs in the store and online NOW.

I went into my local store to see if the ornaments were out and WOW I had NO idea my photo would be featured in the store. I was shocked. I have been coming to this particular store for over 30 years and it was such a dream to see my work featured.

These Li Bien glass ornaments are quite incredible. Each ornament is handpainted by artisans and they paint the art from the inside of the ornament! I art directed with World Market to make sure they came as close to my art as possible and we selected a signature turquoise-colored box to complete the collection.

I am so proud of these and on cloud 9 seeing them in store. I hope you love them too! Check them out on worldmarket.com (search for my name) or visit your local store. Let me know if you grab some!!!

This 2023 Black Heritage Month come find me and my art in Michaels!

I collaborated with @michaelsstores on two special products exclusive to Michaels that celebrate and honor Black History.

Holy crap I’m in @target!
Check out my design in #Target for the 2023 Black History Month in stores Jan-Feb.

I am an artist contributor to their 2023 #bhm line. My design is on apparel, accessories and even packaging! There are more items with my designs on it in addition to the head wrap that will be coming out. Look on target.com. They debut on the 8th!

I’m at a loss for words. I’ve been anticipating this for a long time and it’s finally here! I’m so excited to see my face on this store sign too! I had no idea! Thanks @target for this opportunity to be a part of this very special collection and among so many talented Black creatives.

Your creative jumpstart is here!

I’ve been a designer for over 20 years and I love a good workflow shortcut. I love anything that can help to cut down the design time and get my creativity jump-started.

Using templates in your posts is a game-changer. Want an artsy-looking post but not sure where to start? @AdobeExpress has a large variety of customizable templates you can use to make striking layouts.

Here are 3 different kinds of templates you can search for to get you started!

1. Search for Duotone: When two halftone images of different colors are overlayed. It creates a texture of it’s own in a screenprint style that looks graphic and bold in a layout. 
2. Search for Artistic:  Here you will find lots of different artsy templates with elements such as brush strokes, natural paper backgrounds, scribbles, marks, cut paper and funky fonts. 
3. Search for Scrapbook or Collage:  Collage is HOT right now and if you don’t know how to start building one you can use one of these templates and edit as you like.

I’m challenging myself to make more art, make it fun, and get back to basics.

I tend to overthink and not just play in a sketchbook, which is what it is all about, right? I took advantage of the beautiful weather and stepped outside to paint a nature scene that inspired me.

I enjoyed the slowness and being in nature. I studied the details, the different shades of green, the shadows, the light, and how it changed as it went behind the clouds. Working this way is good for me, as it forces me to slow down and revisit the foundations of art, such as drawing and seeing. I work quickly for my surface design and illustration work, and this is a nice way to get back to basics.

I’ll be exploring my art more through drawing, painting, lettering and pattern making. I want to do more compositions, people, scenes, landscapes and still lives. It’s great to get back to art school exercises and playing more with different art supplies. I’m finding it is like being a student again and revising the things I used to enjoy.

Something about me - I am not an artist who regularly works in a sketchbook. I have an embarrassing amount of incomplete sketchbooks - and I keep buying them! 😩. Maybe I’m a sketchbook hoarder 😆.

I have tried many times to keep a regular sketchbook and failed. I will use it when the mood strikes every blue moon or to work something out on paper. Maybe it’s my ADHD that keeps me from sticking to a routine or just not being in the mood to draw. It’s definitely a good habit that keeps you loose and sharpens your skills. I always admire others who work this way.

I actually drew last week and can share that in the next post!

Would you be interested in seeing me try to draw more regularly - weekly to start? I can’t guarantee daily work right now…baby steps. Haha. by @nettdesigns

Triangles can make the most unexpected tile patterns!

Sometimes I just want to play around with my random art and make patterns.

You can paint this digitally or traditionally. Start with a 90 degree triangle and make sure you put art in the corners so they meet and create a shape in the middle when lined up. Put two into a square shape then repeat and reflect. Try flipping horizontal and vertically to get different looks.

FYI- once you have 4 squares together you will have your repeat swatch. I didn’t make a formal repeat here though. I just placed the squares manually into repeat.

Play around with different color schemes to see how the vibe changes and have fun with it!

Turning a flat illustration into a living scene!

I love how using @adobeexpress can bring your artwork to life in new ways. I was able to access my Photoshop artwork from the library in Creative Cloud and bring it into an Express template. Removing the background from my video, placing all the art and background elements on the template and animating them was a breeze.

Now I can be a part of my own creations! How will you use Adobe Express to bring your work to life?
