I left a lot of my heart in the PNW❤️🌲

This past semester I was blessed to be a recipient of the Valder award and got the chance to intern at the Dandelion House in Oregon over the summer. I’ve assisted, fed, and listened to the unhoused, learned much about gardening and sustainability, helped tutor, helped facilitate a pilgrimage, saw and experienced sooo much, and overall intentionally chose to be more present than I’d ever been… I imagined that this summer would change me but I had no idea that I’d be surrounded by such grand amounts of grace, kindness, and knowledge. From the people that are now dear friends to the places that now feel like a second home, I’m just so thankful for an higher power and the stars that aligned to make this all possible. by @neveahjoness

“Story is the language of human experience, stories are spiritual and when you learn to narrate the story of your life, you are then able to transform others.”

79pgs of journaling in 4 days and still don’t have the words to fully capture the transformation I’ve not only undergone but have witnessed within so many… This past weekend I met some of the most beautiful, inquisitive, and inspiring souls I’ve ever met. We all gathered along the Columbia River Gorge for a retreat centered around Christian faith and storytelling. The stories shared from people who are now dear friends will stay tucked near my heart for forever. I will do more than just keep them there, I’ll allow them (as I already have) to change me in ways that make me more attentive to the beauty of how different both you and I are…more attentive to the beauty of the way you carry yourself no,
more attentive the pain you so effortlessly carry. Yeah I think I’ll be more attentive to the automatic responses we exchange with each other because to say how it’s really going might.. do what?? Take all day?? That’s cool I can actually make the time, it’d be an honor.
Yeah I think I’ll be more attentive to those who think (as I did and sometimes still do) that their frustration, their sadness, their confusion, couldn’t be met with someone who wanted to TRULY know how they were.
So if you’re looking for me you know where I’ll be. I’ll be busy, busy being attentive to the stories of the hungry souls that yearn for eyes and ears that listen attentively, patiently, earnestly, and non-judgmentally. by @neveahjoness

The growth I’ve had this year is unexplainable. I spend so much time journaling trying to reflect and process but there is just so much to be present too. Today my pastor went to lay his hand on my head to pray for me and said “there is nothing I have to say I can tell and see that the lord is working in you”.

He is at work, I can feel it constantly, my mind and heart are always expanding because of the stories I hear from my peers and the way that I encounter the world… especially from the curious questions my brain creates to make sense of this world and the people in it.

I hope to never stop growing (expect when needed to reflect on the change I’ve made within myself and externally within my communities) by @neveahjoness

To be fair I too thought I was done w grad posts… but I’ve come to terms with knowing that I’ll forever be a sappy (yapping) girl💔

These past 4 years hold so much special sentiment that I can’t tell you what’s next for me without telling you who I’ve become and ofc mentioning the people, lessons, moments and also experiences that have SHAPED me along the way.
There isn’t a day that has went by post graduating that I’ve missed rejoicing for the opportunity to be not only be educated (hallelujah) but also so deeply changed along the way!
I am just so thankful for all of my gained friends/family, opportunities, experiences, even challenges that have helped me grow into the woman I am today and just sayingg I’d rather talk about that first before we get to my 5 year plan(s).. ok ly byeee❤️

All glory to the highest, and to the people who have supported me along the way. I can’t even begin to interpret how blessed I am that within my time here, I have met so many beautiful souls who have helped me develop into a more driven, open minded, patient, caring, and overall more confident and considerate person. 🥂 to the entire class of 2026! There’s certainly no coincidence that my birthday falls on Earth day. If you know me, you know that my entire personality revolves around Ms. Mother nature and my many experiences with her.
