20 years ago today I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 27 — a single mom to Alexandra, terrified and unsure of what the future held.

The past two decades have been filled with incredible highs and unthinkable lows — like being re-diagnosed one week before my 40th birthday and later facing congestive heart failure from chemo-induced cardiomyopathy.

But here I am, November 3rd, standing strong — celebrating my courage, my resilience, and every step I took forward even when I was scared AF.

If I could talk to that 27-year-old girl, I’d tell her:
You are one mother-f***ing badass warrior.
Your grace and courage will carry you through the darkest hours. Your tears and cries will not be in vain.

One day, you’ll wake up on your 20th cancerversary knowing this: yes, you’re a two-time survivor — but cancer is just a few chapters of your story, not the whole book. You raised Alexandra into the extraordinary woman she is and Mia into the most beautifully authentic teenager — the kind of girl you always wished you could be at 13. You’ve married an amazing man who encourages you to be unapologetically yourself every single day, and you’ve gained incredible new friendships along the way that remind you how loved and supported you truly are.

Here’s to courage, resilience, love, and the light 🕯️ that never goes out.

To those who were by my side day in and day out in 2005 and 2018 (you know who you are)…I love you to my core!

God - you and me always holding hands these past 20 years! Thank you for being my anchor. 🙌🏼
