The struggles may show up in the physical, but the influence is always in the SPIRITUAL! The Word of God FEEDS and STRENGTHENS our Spirit! We are victorious in the Spirit therefore we WAR IN THE SPIRIT! The question is are you equipped???

“For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

When it comes to all the different battles we have in our flesh (sin, disobedience, reactions, anxiety, etc.), most likely it can be pointed back to one question. What were you focused on?

Jesus taught us that the eye is the lamp of the body and that we should not be anxious about anything! In a nutshell he is saying that it is IMPERATIVE for us to guard our eyes and our minds and that has everything to do with FOCUS!

In Colossians Paul says to think about heavenly things not earthly and to set our sights/hearts on the realities of Heaven where Christ sits!

Jesus tells us, Seek First the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things will be add to you! When we are intentional in seeking Him we allow His grace to be effective in our lives and steer us towards living by the Spirit rather than acting in our flesh!

Christ never called us to fix who we were, He called us to become the NEW CREATION that He died for us to be! Trying to fix who we were places the focus on ourselves, while becoming who we are in Christ places the focus on Jesus!

“Put on your new nature and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like Him.” Colossians 3:10

Our obedience should only be contingent upon our relationship with Jesus and knowing what He did for us on the cross! Not based on what we want or desire in this life! Jesus said, “If you love me, obey my commandments”, not “if you want more from me, obey my commandments”!
