POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Dear new mum, sometimes the most important conversations you will have in your postpartum season will be the ones you have with God in the quiet.

When everyone is asking about your baby, I hope you remember that you can talk to God about yourself, too. Your body, your emotions, your fears, your exhaustion, and the things you may find difficult to say out loud.

My postpartum season was when I felt most vulnerable with God.

I remember crying to Him about how difficult it was to recover my body and how I struggled with what I saw in the mirror. My recovery was slow, and I was trying to navigate so much at once.

I remember how i needed additional help because our househelp had no experience caring for a newborn. And somehow, without me having to explain it all, God put it in my husband’s heart that we needed another househelp.

Looking back, I see how God cared for me in ways I hadn’t even known how to ask for.

That season taught me that I could bring my whole self to God. Not just my gratitude, but my tears. Not just my prayers for my baby, but my own needs, too.

Mama, God wants to be part of your postpartum story.

Bring Him into the sleepless nights. Tell Him when it’s hard. Let Him meet you in the moments when you feel overwhelmed and don’t know what to do next.

And don’t be afraid to receive help when it comes. Sometimes, the care we pray for comes through the people God places around us.

You are caring for a little life, but you are worthy of care, too.

Dear New Mum, ❤️

Motherhood comes with so many changes. Your routine changes, your sleep changes, your body changes, and sometimes, even the way you feel about yourself changes.

Some days, you may feel like you’re figuring things out. Other days, you may wonder if you’re doing enough.

Mama, give yourself grace. You’re learning, growing, and adjusting to a new season of life.

You don’t have to have everything figured out. And you don’t have to navigate this journey without support.

📖 “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2 (KJV)

God never intended for us to carry every burden alone. It’s okay to lean on the people who love you and allow others to help you through this season.

Dear Mama, you deserve a village, too. 🤍

With love,
New Mum Haven

There’s a side of motherhood we don’t always see.

Behind the smiles, the newborn photos and the “congratulations” is a woman adjusting to a completely new life—often while recovering, exhausted, overwhelmed and trying to figure it all out.

And sometimes, she doesn’t need another person telling her what to do.

She needs someone to show up and help.

This series is for new mums, husbands, families, friends, and everyone who wants to understand how to support a woman in those tender early days.

Let’s talk about the realities. Let’s learn. Let’s support better.

Follow along for The Realities of Being a New Mum.

Dear Expectant Mum❤️
before you choose that hospital because someone said, “That hospital is very good,” please ask questions for yourself.

Go there. Look around. Talk to the nurses. Ask questions.

Find out:

• What happens if there is an emergency during delivery?
• Is there a doctor available when you need one?
• Do they have a blood bank or reliable access to blood?
• How do they handle C-sections and emergencies?
• Will someone properly show you how to care for your baby before you go home?
• Are they supportive when it comes to breastfeeding?
• And most importantly, how do they treat their patients?

Because you don’t just need a hospital that can deliver your baby.

You need a hospital where you feel safe, listened to and properly cared for.

And please, don’t be shy to ask questions because “my friend delivered there and everything was fine.”

Your experience may be completely different.

Choose wisely, Mama. 🤍

Save this for when you’re choosing your hospital, and send it to an expectant mum.

We often spend months preparing for labour and delivery, but very few families prepare for what comes after.

The postpartum period is a time for healing, adjusting, and learning. It’s not the time for a new mum to feel like she has to carry everything on her own.

Whether your support comes from family, friends, or a trained postpartum nanny, what matters most is that Mum is genuinely cared for.

Every mother deserves the opportunity to rest, recover, ask for help without guilt, and settle into motherhood knowing she doesn’t have to do it all alone.

That’s the conversation I hope we continue to have, because caring for a new mum isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity.

Here’s my question for you:

What do you think every new mum needs most during those first few weeks after birth?

Choosing where to have your baby is a big decision. 🤍

And sometimes, you don’t realise what you should have asked until you’ve experienced it yourself.

With my first pregnancy, I learnt that the hospital you register for antenatal doesn’t necessarily have to be the hospital where you eventually give birth.

It taught me to pay attention to things like how organized the hospital is, how the nurses treat you, how responsive they are, and how they handle emergencies.

Because it’s not just about “How much is delivery?”

It’s also about how you will be cared for.

And my second pregnancy taught me even more about what to ask before choosing a hospital.

I’ll share that in Part 2.

If you’re pregnant, or you know someone who is, save this video and send it to her. 🤍

What was the most important thing you considered when choosing your hospital?

DEAR HUSBANDS,

Everyone is preparing for the baby.

But who is preparing for Mummy?

She will need more than baby clothes, diapers and hospital bills.

She will need rest. Help. Care. Support.

And when it comes to Omugwo, remember:

It should make her postpartum season easier, not harder.

Choose support over pressure.

Because when you care for the mother,
you’re caring for the baby too.

A new baby changes everything.

While everyone is celebrating the newest arrival, it’s easy to forget that a mother has just been born too.

The days after birth can be beautiful, overwhelming, exhausting, and emotional—all at the same time. A little thoughtfulness from family and friends can make a world of difference.

The most memorable visitors are often not the ones who come with the biggest gifts, but the ones who leave a mother feeling supported, seen, and cared for.

Let’s be the kind of village that helps new mums thrive, not just survive.

Hello❤️

If you’ve been following me for a while, thank you for being here.
And if you’re new, welcome.

Over the years, a lot has changed. I’ve grown, I’ve become a wife, a mum, and I’ve discovered a purpose that has completely transformed the direction of my life.

So I thought it was the perfect time to reintroduce myself.

My name is Ruth.

I’m a wife, a mum, and an advocate for better postpartum care and wellness for new mums.

I’m passionate about helping the world see, support, and celebrate new mums better because I believe when a baby is born, a mother is born too—and she deserves to be cared for, celebrated, and supported.

I’m also the founder of New Mum Haven, where we’re on a mission to care for mothers from hospital to home, and Treasure by New Mum Haven, where we thoughtfully curate meaningful gifts that remind mums they are deeply loved and appreciated.

But beyond everything I do, my greatest desire is to reflect Christ through His love, compassion, grace, and service. I pray that this page points people to Him—not just through my words, but through the way I live and serve others.

Kindly check both pages out.

1. Her body is healing from a major physical event.
Whether she had a vaginal birth or a C-section, her body is recovering from wounds, blood loss, hormonal changes, and extreme physical exertion.

2. Her hormones change dramatically.
Pregnancy hormones drop rapidly after delivery.

3. Sleep deprivation starts immediately.
Newborns feed every 2–3 hours, leaving mothers with fragmented sleep that affects healing, decision-making, and emotional well-being.

4. She is learning a completely new role.
Caring for a newborn doesn’t come with a manual. Many mothers are simultaneously learning to breastfeed, soothe, and understand their baby’s needs while recovering themselves.

5. She may be carrying invisible pain.
Pelvic pain, stitches, breastfeeding challenges, swollen breasts, back pain, C-section discomfort,.

6. Her mental health deserves as much attention as her physical health.
Many mothers experience the “baby blues,” and some develop postpartum depression or anxiety.

7. She needs nourishment too.
Her body requires nutritious food, hydration, rest, and gentle care to recover and, if breastfeeding, to support milk production.

8. Recovery takes time.
While the baby is expected to need constant care, people often expect mothers to “bounce back.” In reality, postpartum recovery can take weeks, months, or longer.

9. A supported mother is better able to care for her baby.
When a mother is rested, nourished, and emotionally supported, both she and her baby benefit.

To every new mum carrying more than anyone knows… this is for you. 🤍

God sees the tears no one else notices.
He sees the sleepless nights, the quiet sacrifices, the exhaustion, and the love you pour out every single day.

If today feels heavy, know this: you are not alone.

Your strength may feel small, but God’s grace is never exhausted.

At New Mum Haven, we believe that mothers deserve to be cared for too. You don’t have to carry the weight of motherhood by yourself.

May today remind you that you are seen, deeply loved, and held by the One who never leaves your side.

🤍 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
