At our Junior Violence Interrupters Level Up Leadership Youth Workshop, in collaboration with Safe Zone Newark, we brought the youth together for real conversations about leadership, accountability, conflict resolution, and making better choices in the face of pressure.

We focused on helping young people understand their influence, control their emotions, communicate effectively, and recognize how their decisions impact their families, their community, and their future. This wasn’t just a workshop it was a safe space to learn, grow, and level up mentally, spiritually, and socially.

We’re committed to building leaders, not statistics. The work continues. 💪🏾

🚨URGENT MESSAGE TO THE YOUTH 🚨

Peace family,

One of our baby boys was rushed to the emergency room today with severe chest pains and back spasms. This is real life not a rumor, not a warning for “other kids.”

Vaping is not harmless.
Those vapes contain chemicals that can:
• Tighten your chest and lungs
• Mess with your heart rhythm
• Cause muscle spasms, anxiety, and breathing problems
• Put you in the hospital faster than you think

We love y’all too much to stay quiet. Your life, your health, and your future matter more than a quick hit or fitting in.

If you’re vaping right now:
• Stop. Take it seriously.
• Talk to a trusted adult, mentor, or one of us.
• If you feel chest pain, dizziness, or tightness—tell someone immediately.

This is about protecting you, not judging you.
We want all our young kings and queens alive, healthy, and free.

Newdirection360 Pulled Up to Check on a Baby Boy. 🙏🏾
Who got hit by a scooter coming home from school today. 🤦🏾‍♂️
Y’all on those scooters need to be more responsible — you just hurt one of our babies!! 😤

Just yesterday, another kid got hit by a speeding car after school. This is getting out of hand. We need everyone — drivers, scooter riders, the whole community — to slow down and pay attention around these schools. Our kids’ lives are on the line.

Our young people need to know there is a better way, a better option, and a newdirection. We don’t have to keep accepting violence as normal. We have to change the mindset, change the choices, and move our communities in a newdirection toward peace, safety, purpose, and life.

Safe Passage starts with us showing up Supporting Our Youth protecting them from bad decisions.

During patrols in downtown Newark by Dunkin Donuts On Court St. Newdirection360 Youth Evolution Empowerment Institute came across some North Star scholars who were focused, making positive choices, and moving toward success.

Their message reminded us why this work matters: our youth deserve safety, support, positive role models, and trusted adults who believe in them.

Together, we can protect our children, promote peace, create opportunities, and build safer pathways to school, home, and their future.

Volunteer. Mentor. Support youth programs. Show up with encouragement and care.

When our community stands together, our youth rise stronger, safer, and more confident.

Bradley Court showed what community looks like when love, unity, and purpose come together. ❤️💯

For the Munsters Back-to-School Giveaway & Bradley Court Reunion, we brought community members, elders, young men and women, and our youth together to break bread, enjoy good energy, and remind our young people that positivity can be celebrated even in places others may consider dark.

We were blessed to feed the community, provide resources, pour into our youth, and at the end of the program give each participating young person a $250 stipend so they could get something extra for themselves and their families.

Special thanks to Newark Water Coalition, Newdirection360 Youth Evolution Empowerment Institute, Al-Muta, and PRYCLSS for the partnership, support, and shared commitment to our youth and the Bradley Court community.

This was bigger than a giveaway. It was about unity, healing, opportunity, and showing our young people that they matter.

Beautiful day. Powerful energy. Strong community. 🙏🏾❤️

Shout out to everybody who helped make this possible. We’re going to keep planting seeds, investing in our youth, and building from here.

🛡️ PROTECTING OUR YOUTH IS PROTECTING OUR GREATEST RESOURCE.

Newdirection360 Youth Evolution Empowerment Institute pulled up to the McDonald’s on Elizabeth Avenue by Lincoln Park one of the popular after-school meet-up spots for our young people.

Greater Oaks scholars, North Star scholars, and youth from all across the surrounding community come through here, so we came through doing our peace, safety, and wellness checks making sure our kids were good, staying safe, and making positive decisions.

This is what community presence looks like. We’re not just showing up when something happens we’re showing up to help prevent it from happening.

Appreciation to everybody supporting the movement and helping us keep our young people safe.
