I recently went on a little boat ride with @catalystsailing. A little band called @newmastersounds happened to be on the same boat. They happened to play and I happened to record them playing... a lot.

If you thought this was good, all I can say with absolute certainty is that you ain't seen nothin' yet. Stay tuned and let's go back...

On the final night of the eclipse sail, Joe, Eddie, Simon and Pete banded together for a rockin' set, right as the moon started eating away at the sun.

5 minutes before the total eclipse, the band took a pause to enjoy the magnificence of the moment. As the sky darkened and the scene went quiet, several guests dove off the bow of the ship, to enjoy the magical event from the Mediterranean Sea.

The whole cove was energized by the awesome celestial sight. And as the sun began to reveal itself again, the band kicked off their second set with a rendition of "Here Comes the Sun."

Awesome doesn't begin to describe the experience!

The NMS Eclipse Sail was nothing short of extraordinary.

5 days. 3 catamarans. 1 amazing celestial event.

Absolutely life-changing! We all made memories that we will never, ever forget. We made lifelong friends and created a truly special community that will always live in our hearts!

🎶🎶El quartet @newmastersounds, liderat pel virtuós guitarrista i productor @theeddieroberts, és reconegut mundialment com una banda clau a l’escena del new funk després d’innombrables concerts i gires per Europa, els Estats Units i el Japó.

Aquests músics converteixen les sales en pistes de ball, amb un formiguer de la millor música negra dels 60 i els 70.

Hello, chums! Here we are 21 years ago in Menorca, back in the days when Joe was Bob and Eddie still wore t-shirts. Next week we will be back there to play an unplugged eclipse show on a boat for Eddie's sailing guests and then two weekend shows on the island. Friday night we return to Es Claustre in Mahon at 9pm / 21h, and Saturday night we are playing a tiny bar in Ciutadella on Pete's doorstep around 8pm / 20h, details TBA at the Mahon show. Just a few more days until The New Mastersounds Eclipse Sail officially gets underway! ⛵️🎶

Dynamic duo @theeddieroberts + @joetatton have been playing together for several sails this summer, and it's been a blast!!

And in just a few days, they do it all over again for The New Mastersounds Eclipse Sail, where Simon and Pete will be joining! Going to be such an epic experience with an amazing group of people. And it’s the only time the whole band is playing together this year… so it is truly special!

There was this night last summer,

Joe from the New Mastersounds and I were sailing with everyone in a tiny town in Croatia, just playing music on the back of the boat.

Suddenly, the whole place came alive!

People dancing on the dock, in the streets. One of those nights you’ll remember forever.

That’s what I love the most about these trips...

You go for the sailing, but it’s really about what happens when you’re out there.

Strangers at the start, and lifelong friends by the end.

Sharing music, wine, meals and all the best moments.

That’s why we call it Sailing with Friends.

Great news for vinyl fans: our 2005 album Live At La Cova is getting a 21st-anniversary vinyl pressing (it was only ever available on CD/digital) by our Japanese partners P-Vine Records on Friday June 24th. And P-Vine sell internationally via their direct sales website: https://anywherestore.p-vine.jp/products/plp-8342
We will also be playing a couple of shows in Menorca (the island where this was recorded and where our bassist Pete now lives) after Eddie's Balearic sailing trip, on August 14th and 15th, details TBA shortly. by @newmastersounds
