Celebrating the 20 year anniversary of my exhibition 'Funk'd' by sharing some photos from the opening night at the Arts Cafe, Leeds 30/09/06 📷

This was a fantastic time when I was given the nickname 'neil the artist' and got to interview, paint and hang out with some wonderful musicians, many of them graduates from @leedsmusicdrama and many homegrown 🎤🎷🎺🎸🎹🎻🥁

The exhibition then moved to @thewardrobeleeds where all the paintings were hung behind the stage upstairs - a real honour at the time. I've also included the artist's statement that accompanied the exhibition and a poster that was used to advertise it 🎨

You've seen an Eddie Roberts guitar solo, but have you seen an Eddie Roberts guitar solo...at a venue in Spain??? Land shows are all part of a @catalystsailing adventure!

The New Mastersounds funked @esclaustre up without even needing to shake off their sea legs.

@newmastersounds are:

@theeddieroberts: guitar
@joetatton: keys
Pete Shand: bass
Simon Allen: drums

Last-minute Pocket Revival trio gig at Horsetooth Tavern this past Sunday.
Beautiful weather, a full patio, and plenty of dancing. Thanks to everyone who hung out and got funky with us.

Here’s a little “MRG” by The New Mastersounds from behind the drums.

It's always easy like Sunday morning on a @catalystsailing catamaran even if it's a Tuesday night!

@newmastersounds drummer Simon Allen gets on the keys and leads everyone in a classic Lionel Ritchie cover sing-along while keyboardist @joetatton watches over his playing and provides backing vocals.

I recently went on a little boat ride with @catalystsailing. A little band called @newmastersounds happened to be on the same boat. They happened to play and I happened to record them playing... a lot.

If you thought this was good, all I can say with absolute certainty is that you ain't seen nothin' yet. Stay tuned and let's go back...

@theeddieroberts on guitar and @joetatton on keys just in case that wasn't clear.

Fans of @newmastersounds ! How about this for a throwback. Working in our archives, and had a recent conversation with a friend about this show. Captured on June 1, 2011 at The Southgate House. Check out @theeddieroberts and the long hair and outfit!! Such a flashback to before the band took off in the states!

Enjoy!
