It's been a long time coming. 5 years of blood, sweat, and tears spent on learning the ins and outs of the microbial realm. I've made a lot of compost in my day but today marks a special occasion. Today is the first day I can proudly say you can buy compost I personally made with the help of the NewTerra team at a local retail store “America's Gardens Nursery.”

I can’t express enough how grateful I am to everyone at NewTerra from the driver's, to the owners Norm and Michael for everything they do to make the position I’m in possible.

I've learned so much about composting and the roll microbes have on our soil systems most intensely from Dr. Elaine Ingham and her “Soil Food Web” course. My admiration and respect goes out to you for the path you paved in your time on earth to teach people the value and methods of composting and regenerative agriculture.

I'm thrilled to hear everyone's feedback from the results of the compost so please reach out with feedback and if you have any questions about compost, how it's made, or what makes ours so different I’d love to connect.

Thanks America's Gardens Nursery for being our first retail shop. I hope for a long relationship full of lots of compost and healthy gardens.

Happy growing. taken in America's Gardens Plant Nursery & Landscaping by @newterracompost

Starting the week of May 4th, we’re officially rolling out residential curbside compost collection

That means an easier way to keep food waste out of the landfill and turn it into something that actually feeds soil.

Over the past few months, we’ve also welcomed new team members from the former Phoenix Glass Recycling crew. Because of that, we’re continuing to offer all the glass recycling services you know and trust—now alongside food scrap collection.

And we’re just getting started…

We’re proud to now be supporting the Huntsville community with commercial composting solutions, helping businesses divert food from landfills and operate more sustainably.

If you’ve been waiting for an easy way to get started with composting at home—this is it.

👉 Sign up, spread the word, and let’s keep building something better together. taken in Huntsville, Alabama by @newterracompost

Big things are happening behind the scenes here at MidCity! 🌱♻️🌎

We’re proud to partner with NewTerra Composting to take another meaningful step toward a more sustainable future. Since launching in December, we’ve already been diverting an average of 1,200+ lbs of food waste every week from landfills all thanks to the commitment of our incredible restaurant tenants.

1️⃣Phase 1 is all about reaching 100% restaurant participation with customized, back-of-house composting systems that make it easy to do the right thing.

And we’re just getting started!!!

2️⃣Phase 2 will bring composting opportunities to our residential communities and guests, making it even easier for everyone in MidCity to be part of the solution.
