For our tenth annual Bridge Summit, we wanted to mark the occasion with two special headlining firesides.
@larryfitzgerald and a Special Operations veteran gave us a thoughtful conversation on discipline, resilience, and the will to win that had the room locked in. Larry, one of the greatest wide receivers of all time, reflected on the mentors who shaped him and what it means to carry those relationships into the next chapter through his work with Trenches Capital. Two different paths to excellence, one shared understanding of what it takes to sustain it.

Then the one-and-only @llcoolj closed out the afternoon with a fireside moderated by @ryannece. One of the most complete entertainers of all time, his charge to the room was simple: approach everything with humility and self-awareness. Never set dreams with deadlines, and never fixate on what you can’t do.
We are deeply grateful to Larry, our special guest, the Special Operations veteran, LL COOL J, and every speaker who gave their time, their candor, and their best thinking to this room. @trycursor grew its revenue 4,000x in two years, going from $1M to $4B. A few years ago, most of the AI tools people use every day didn’t exist yet.

It can feel like AI is already at its peak. Our partner @benjichoi uses Cursor’s story to make the case that we’re at the very beginning, and that the biggest gains are ahead.

There’s still time to shape where this goes. That was the focus of @Mastercard @cntr4growth's Data for Inclusive Growth Forum, which brought together leaders working to make sure AI benefits us all, not just a select few. Midtown. On a Thursday night. During UNGA week. Ask any New Yorker and they'd tell you half the guest list would stay home.

Instead, we filled the room and then some.

Philanthropists met athletes, founders met investors, and a few guests who flew in for the week met just about everyone.

We were grateful to close the evening with a private performance from @vinnydeponto, mentalist and Drama Desk nominee. For a crowd that usually does the reading, it was something else to watch him read us.

Ask a founder what it takes to compete in venture, and the answer usually comes back to the drive to keep going when the work gets hard.

That’s what we heard all day on our Fall NYC Venture Capital Tech Tour. Our hosts helped build some of the earliest online communities, changed how people find and book restaurants, and back companies from the very first idea all the way to global scale. A few of them learned business young, working in a family restaurant or watching a parent build a startup. Different paths, same drive, which is why they were the right people to spend a day with a group of athletes, entertainers, and changemakers who know something about that drive themselves.

Our community continues to make headlines, and this week, three of them are making them together. Major League Volleyball’s Northern California team has revealed its name, @norcalrumble, ahead of its first season in 2027. The ownership group includes three familiar faces: Kerri Walsh Jennings, Zaza Pachulia, and Andre Iguodala.

For all three, this is a homecoming of sorts. Kerri grew up in Santa Clara and played at Stanford before winning three Olympic golds on the sand. She’s now a founding owner and the team’s Chief Impact Officer. Zaza and his wife, Tika, joined the group in May, with their 13-year-old daughter, a volleyball player herself, as one of his most trusted advisors. Andre, who built his career with the Warriors, joined this month.

Four Olympic golds and a bronze, four world championships, and six NBA titles later, all three are using everything they’ve built to lift up the athletes coming next.

100,021 people packed the MCG to watch @49ers vs. @rams, the 7th largest regular-season crowd in NFL history. We came a long way to be part of it with friends and investors, and to see a few of our LPs on their turf.

We spotlighted @taylor_fritz in the latest Weekly Huddle, and with the US Open quarterfinals underway, it feels like the right moment to say congratulations on his run in New York. He opened the tournament with two dominant straight-set wins.

Taylor has spent a decade raising the bar for American tennis: a career-high ranking of World No. 4, eleven ATP Tour titles, a doubles bronze in Paris, and a US Open final in 2024. What a privilege it is to celebrate people like him in our circle.
