Back injury rehab with Tom.

โœ… SL RDL
โœ… Alternating curtsey lunge
โœ… KB swings
โœ… Alternating curtsey bounds with medball
โœ… Split squat pulse

All of it standing and loaded, which is a lot closer to what the back actually has to handle day to day.

This is a glimpse, not a program. A physical therapy plan of care is what tells you where yours should start.

Kate reacts to a towel stretch for neck and shoulder pain.

She gets what he's going for, he's trying to lengthen the upper trap. Her issue is the method. Wrapping a towel around your face and neck and cranking on it is more likely to cause trouble than help, and there are simpler, safer ways to get at the same thing.

She'd also be looking somewhere else first. The ribcage and the pec, because when the upper trap is firing, the pec is usually grabbing too.

Her point is that you want to understand why the neck is hurting before you start pulling on it.

This is a glimpse, not a program. A physical therapy plan of care is what sorts out why yours is hurting.

Shoulder impingement rehab.

These six build on each other. You start by easing up the front of the shoulder and getting the shoulder blade moving well, then you teach the shoulder to stay steady while the arm is overhead.

โœ… Lacrosse Ball Pec Release
โœ… 1-Arm Foam Roller Wall Slide
โœ… Right Oblique Sit w/ Reach
โœ… Rolling Arm Bar
โœ… 1/4 Turkish Get-Up
โœ… Turkish Get-Up

By the full get-up, the shoulder is holding weight overhead while the rest of the body moves underneath it, which is usually where people with impingement feel it most.

This is a glimpse of the process, not a full program. The real plan comes from a physical therapy plan of care built around how your shoulder moves.

Achilles tendinopathy, temporary relief vs lasting relief.

Rolling, stretching and scraping can make the calf and Achilles feel better for a while. For a lot of people though, the tendon keeps flaring back up, because none of those ask it to handle more load than it did before.

โŒ Calf Foam Roll โ†’ โœ… Cable Chop
โŒ Towel Scrunches โ†’ โœ… Lateral KB Drop Catch Lunges
โŒ Calf Stretch โ†’ โœ… FFE Calf Raise
โŒ Scraping โ†’ โœ… Pogo Hops

The right side builds how much the tendon can take, from slow loaded calf raises up to quick hops and landings, which tends to be what holds up long term.

This is a quick look, not a full program. The real fix is a physical therapy plan of care built around how your Achilles is loading.

Pec strain rehab, from realign to stability to strength.

The order matters. Before you load a strained pec, it usually helps to get the ribcage and shoulder sitting where they should. Then you teach the shoulder to hold that position. Only after that do you start pressing heavier.

Realign
โœ… Right Sidelying ISA Mobilization
โœ… Right Sidelying Twister
โœ… DR Expansive Breathing

Stability
โœ… Lying Arm Bar Corkscrew
โœ… Incline Fly Breathing
โœ… Tsunami RB Pull Apart

Strength
โœ… MB Drop Chest Pass
โœ… DB Floor Press
โœ… 1-Arm DB Bench Press

Each phase builds on the one before it, so by the time the chest is pressing real weight, the shoulder is already moving and holding well.

This is a snapshot of the process, not a program. The real plan comes from a physical therapy plan of care built around you.

Elyse reacts to a post telling you to stretch your hamstrings.

Her issue isn't the stretch itself. It's that feeling tight and being tight aren't the same thing. A hamstring can feel tight because it's short, because it's already lengthened, or because it's weak, and the stretch looks identical in all three cases.

A lot of it comes down to where your pelvis is sitting and how you're loading through it. That's what decides whether the hamstring ever gets to relax.

She also flags something worth knowing. If you feel that stretch behind your knee rather than in the belly of the muscle, you may be pulling on the sciatic nerve instead.

Stretching daily isn't going to hurt you. It just tends to keep coming back if nothing changes underneath it.

This is a glimpse, not a program. A physical therapy plan of care is what sorts out why yours feel tight in the first place.

Hip flexor strain rehab.

The order matters here. It starts on the ground with control of the hip, then adds load, then adds speed and bounce once the hip can handle it.

โœ… 90/90 Hip Lift
โœ… SL Foam Roller Bridge
โœ… Tempo Split Squats
โœ… Lateral A Skips
โœ… Campo DL
โœ… Pogo Hop Drop Split Squat

By the end, the hip flexor is working through bigger ranges and faster movements, which tends to be what people need before getting back to running and sport.

This is just a glimpse of how a rehab can build, not a program to copy. The real fix is a physical therapy plan of care built around you.
