Today we celebrate the power, resilience and courage of women everywhere.

At Nguvu Foundation, we believe that true beauty is found in strength. Strength to rise, strength to nurture communities, and strength to transform futures.

From the women who harvest shea in Northern Ghana to the mothers, daughters and leaders shaping tomorrow, we honour the beauty that comes from perseverance, dignity and purpose.

When women are empowered, communities flourish and generations are lifted.

Happy International Women’s Day.

In Part Two, Kande shares how Bright Future Academy Preschool has grown and just how great the demand has become. What began as a nursery is now educating dozens of children, not only from the shea factory, but from across the entire community.

Bright Future Academy is the first preschool in this village, giving children access to early learning for the very first time. With enrolment increasing each term, the need is clear and families are asking for more. That’s why our next vision is to expand into a primary school, so these children can continue their education without interruption.

This school isn’t just changing classrooms. It’s changing futures for families and especially for women who can now work knowing their children are safe, learning, and thriving.

This is Part Two and the journey continues.

Meet Kande 👋🏾🤎
Kande is the Project Coordinator for Bright Future Academy Preschool, built by Nguvu Foundation in a community where there was once no access to early childhood education.

In this video, she shares how children were starting nursery as late as age 15, and why building Bright Future Academy has been so important for the community. She also talks about what the school now means for local families, especially women working in the shea factory that produces for Nguvu SheaCare.

Kande is from Tamale and brings such a genuine community perspective.
This is Part One — stay tuned for Part Two 🙌🏾
