To be in love with the husband God gave me is a privilege. I can’t help but brag about it.

I used to believe the lie that love was about endless options. “There are so many fish in the sea.” Or thinking “He has to measure up.” It made everything feel like a comparison game. Like I was supposed to optimize instead of covenant.

Marriage was never meant to be a marketplace. It is a blessing. A choosing. A building.

And Ephesians 5 talks about love that reflects Christ and the Church. Sacrificial. Steady. Honoring. Not competitive. Faithful.

The grass is greener where you water it is about stewardship. “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much” (Luke 16:10). When you water respect, patience, and commitment, you reap depth.

I stopped chasing the illusion of better and started valuing what is biblical. Character. Kindness. Leadership. Gentleness. Shared faith. Shared mission.

The answer isn’t lower your standards. It’s align them. With Gods help I was able to refine what I value by Gods grace in His perfect timing it allowed me to not miss the perfect man in front of me.

The reel says “why we decided to stay in New York” — but the truth is, it didn’t always feel like an obvious choice for me in the beginning.

There was a season where I didn’t have a job and I was looking for a place to live at the same time. It would’ve made so much sense to move back to my home city. Or my college town. A lot of my friends at the time were saying that’s what I should do. It was practical. It was safe.

But I knew I had found something in New York City that I couldn’t walk away from.

I had found my church. I had found community. I had found people who were serious about Jesus, about growth, about doing life together.

So I stayed.

I didn’t even know that two summers after that decision I would meet my husband at church. I didn’t know that all of my bridesmaids — including my maid of honor and matron of honor — would be girls I met in Connect Group, Bible study at church. I didn’t know that the foundation I was choosing would become the foundation for my future family.

New York isn’t just a city to us. It’s where our faith deepened. It’s where our community formed. It’s where our story unfolded.

Sometimes obedience doesn’t look practical. Sometimes it looks like staying planted. And I’m so grateful I did 🤍 by @niahbivh

Only God could write a story this good
As a little girl, I lost my father at a very young age, moved across the country, and took on responsibilities far beyond my years, while carrying so much anger, hurt, and trauma of my own.

But God.

What once felt like a story filled with pain, He has continued to rewrite with His GRACE, redemption, and love. He saved me from the bitterness, unforgiveness, fear, and brokenness that had taken root in my heart very young. He’s been restoring EVERYTHING. From friendships to love, from my relationship with authority to the way I see myself and others. He’s healed wounds I thought l’d carry forever and redeemed parts of my story I never thought could be beautiful.

And the sweetest part? He’s still writing. Only Jesus. by @niahbivh

“Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God’s people everywhere, I have not stopped thanking God for you.” Ephesians 1:15–17

I thank God for you constantly, and this is my prayer over you this year, that He would give you greater wisdom and revelation, and that you would know Him more and more.

What a blessing it is to do life with you, to know every side of you and get a front row seat to who God is shaping you to be.

Loved enjoying my rent but but loved getting outside with my favorite people even more ☀️

End-of-summer beach days, shows, good food, little adventures, lots of time with friends + family, and so many ordinary moments that ended up being my favorites.

Beehive hike in Maine . Phew 😮‍💨

Guys, I barely know what km stands for, but felt right to say. Legit facts are… Beehive hike is Elevation gain: about 450 ft = 137 meters = 0.137 km vertically 🤣

Yes, this pup stayed put the whole time. Yes. He owes me his life. No. I do not advise doing this. Yes. you will hear huffing and puffing throughout all these videos. Yes Jodell left us in the dust many times.

I’m just gonna talk through these captions with the audio assist because y’all- your favorite Pacific North West couple found the Pacific (actually Atlantic) Northeast right at home.

I wish these postcard videos captured the peace I felt on this beach.
