She’s back! I cannot live with boring hair. I promised myself to not touch my hair during pregnancy. I let it grow out. My baby is almost 7 months old now. It felt so good to cut my hair again! Shag mullet is back!

Us all sitting and watching lasted about 30 seconds. General conference with kids is different. I’m so glad we can go back and listen to the talks again.
We went to my parent’s house. I made cinnamon rolls and jalapeño popper pigs in a blanket. We watched conference and then football and conference again. It was a great day! by @niarickslui

Are we focused on the wrong things? Our focus should always be on Christ. And while I know every situation and circumstances is different, Christ covers all. God has always had to work with imperfect people. Thank heavens we have the atonement and the ability to better ourselves and forgive those around us.

This is MY discipleship. Thee most challenging thing I have ever been given. And the most fulfilling. I have been pushed to my limits. It has made me become a more resilient person. I LOVE being “just” a mom. Imagine if I had given up when I got pregnant as a single woman with my first.

suicide prevention month may be ending, but caring about people doesn’t end with september. 🤍

i wanted to end this month by asking a simple question:

what’s one specific thing that helps you keep going when life feels really hard?
the answers i received reminded me that sometimes the things that keep us going aren’t huge or profound. sometimes it’s a person who always calls. a pet waiting for you at home. a song. a prayer. a place you want to visit. something on your calendar you’re excited about. a future you haven’t gotten to yet.

and sometimes, it’s just knowing that today doesn’t have to be forever.
thank you so much to everyone who was willing to be part of this project, whether you sent me a video, wrote something down, shared a little piece of your story, or simply said yes when i asked. i know some of these answers came from deeply personal places, and i don’t take your willingness to share them with me or with everyone watching for granted. 🤍

i hope this can be a reminder that suicide prevention isn’t just about one month on the calendar. it’s about the way we notice each other, check in, listen, stay connected, and make space for people to be honest about how they’re doing.

and if you’re the person watching this who is struggling right now:
you don’t have to have everything figured out. you don’t have to know how things will get better. you just have to keep going one moment at a time.
i’m really glad you’re here.

keep checking on your people.
